Dead Rising: Video of the demo

Dead Rising: Video of the demo

The demo of Dead Rising could very well be the best demo on the Marketplace for a long time. I think I've played it more than 10 times now, and I still find new things to do. Here is a rather long video montage showing a few interesting or stupid stuff you can do or find. I already love this game!

Its a great demo. The combat has a really good sense of impact and i am really impressed with the environment graphics. Definately one to buy.

the 4th screen on the 720p version shows the use of the katana. but anyway, the demo is great, its convinced me to get this game, it may have small technical flaws here and there but its so much fun to just pick up and mow people down - sometimes literally

Great Vid Blim!
You wield that frying pan like a true pro :)

The secrets in the full game will be, absolutely immense.

I read that there's even a recipe for making a smoothie that turns your spitting attack into one of the most effective attacks in the game!

Concidering that the full game has a great replay value, I'm definitely going to pick up this one.

As demonstrated in Blim's vid ;)

The Aussie market place still doesn't have it!!! I'm so jealous...i've been sitting around all weekend waiting for it, now its Sunday night and i've got school tomorrow! And all your comments about how good it is isn't helping haha.

I really like the look of this game and the tone of it, like shaun of the dead type of thing, and it sounds like it controls and plays really well, so it seems to be a definite winner...something to pick up and play when you have a free 10 minutes...and its good that it has good replay value because thats what this type of game needs. Definite buy for me, and if i pre-order it i get a free t-shirt yay! Shame i have to wait for September 9th for it down here haha.

Monkey, you can create a UK/US silver account and download it. Who knows when it will be released for us.

The Vsync problem seems to appear only if you have a vertical resolution superior to 720p. Is that the case for you?

i have vga cable to my computer LCD TFT

Interlacing will probably make V-sync tearing more obviously.

Because 720p is 60 frames per second (which is the 360's native output resoultion), if you select a 30 fps option (1080i/480i) the scaler will have to double up on frames probably causing more noticable tearing.

This is my theory anyways, i haven't expereinced much tearing at 480i however.

I have a 1080i TV, but I set my 360 to 720p and it seems to have taken care of the V-sync.

Didn't know about the UZI gun there, nice little thing :)

the only negative thing I have to say about the demo, is that the beginning-sequence (where he gets to the mall) is missing . .... I was really looking forward to see that in realtime, cuz it's the most amazing thing I've see so far on 360 (when they fly over the city, seen in a vid on xboxyde)

.. ... oh well, only one month until it's available :)

Nice video, can,t wait to play this game.

I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the game is. I was expecting it to be Dynasty Warriors with a different look to it, but it's definitely not.

A few flaws that I've seen so far:
*Not enough animations for attacks
*No ragdolls :(
*Precision aiming is dictated by the left analog stick, not the right stick like most games use.

It's good they have no ragdolls.. i think Saints Row shows the ragdoll effect is not always the best.

Great demo, one of the only demos on XBL that actually enourages me to buy the game

Very fun game. I'm always finding new things to do in the demo. Today I noticed that Frank can get blood all over his face. Really cool. Also, 1up.com reviewed the game. And it was a pretty crappy review as usual from the site

*No ragdolls :(
Thank god...

Ragdolls is very last gen and is one of saints rows many flaws. The next gen indiana jones is the way forward.

Because 720p is 60 frames per second
No it isn't. 720p doesn't dictate framerate at all, just dimension of image. If framerate is specified then it is after the p/i variable (eg. 720p24 for movies or 720p60 for a 60fps video).

What's up?
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer oh yea that, Dragon Age was preloading at the time (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (7 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (8 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (8 Hours ago)
