THAT LOOKS...umm, a bit messed up...
At least they aren't discriminating against little people.

Not really sure what to make of those pics, lighting seems a bit more dull than I remember. Either way, the first game was so fucking good I still have very high hopes for this game. Unless they rush it and don't evolve the gameplay enough.

looks like they're recycling some of Dante's Inferno assets :)

Is it a woman this time? Looks way more feminine anyway. But hey, it looks pretty cool. I especially like the fact that the environment is some sort of church, and not just tunnels in a space ship :)

looks like a little kid is in that suit.

Its still Isaac Clarke, and he is killing things that were once children of the space colony. The pictures are set in the Church of unitology.

The first one was great... but too repetitive... And limited variation of monsters and scenario.

What? It had more variety than Resident Evil 4 (and I love both games)! All the space stuff, the setpieces, the bosses, puzzles.

The new suit looks like a girl-version of a Masterchief clone suit.

Anyhow; Isaac is coming back, that is always good.

Weird. Why release these screens?

Still, I remember Dead Space having great graphics and lighting, so I'm hopeful the sequel will improve them.

Dead Space was awesome-looking. However, I'm not really expecting the sequel to improve upon the graphics. Sure, it'd be nice, but the game doesn't need it.

It will need it as the concept of the game will change (in certain ways at least) as it is now on a manned space station with larger environments. But I agree that Dead Space today still looks great.

I don't see how that matters. If the larger environments still look as good as the smaller environments in the first one, then I'll be happy. I'm just saying..I don't care if the lighting, textures, animation, effects, etc... aren't improved upon. Same way I feel about Batman:AA's sequel(except for better animation/physics on incapacitated enemies).

wow, these are some terrible images. Are they supposed to leave excited about the game?!

First one was one of the best games from last year, and this one will surelly be great as well, but these are bad PR images...

The 1st one of these caught me by surprise!!

I just hope the engine supports AA this time and not only some crappy edge smoothing option that makes the game even worse looking..

It matters because larger environments that are populated, need more graphical power to render it they want the same kind of detail they did in the first. And the framerate of the first wasn't always stable (especially when there were mulptiple necromormphs at the same time). So either they need to improve the engine or decrease the graphical fidelity. That's what I meant. But again, I agree with you ;o)

When someone says something like "I remember Dead Space having great graphics and lighting, so I'm hopeful the sequel will improve them," I don't think they mean "I hope the graphics are improved so that the larger areas will look as good as the first one."

I'm not talking about the behind-the-scenes improvements that will allow the game to look and run the way it does, I'm talking about the actual end result, and for me, the end result doesn't need to look better than the first one.

if they sort of out the aliasing from the first game i'll be happy as far as visuals go.

not sure i like the new suit design tho. i definately pefered the rusty looking thing from the first game. gave it more character.
Commented on 2009-12-28 22:37:15
It's only one of a few available suits, actually.
In first DS all the original suits were pretty much the same, with more plating. In DS2 there will be a whole range of suits, designed for different tasks.

Tiz Anyway, it's early days. The next time we hear about Halo after Halo Wars 2 will be E3, and it will either be H3: Anniversary or a Halo 6 trailer and my money is on H3: A. (2 Hours ago)

Tiz @amerakindesi: I liked 4's campaign as well, 5 was a massive misstep and while Joe isn't necessary for the H5 campaign to be good, I think he is necessary for it to be epic. (2 Hours ago)

amerakindesi To be frank though I loved halo 1, halo 2, halo 3, halo 4 campaigns in that order. 4 was my fav. (2 Hours ago)

  • Tiz
Tiz There are a couple of videos of him flitting about the 343 offices and talking about Halo memorabilia and while it isn't confirmed, I'd be surprised if he isn't on H6. (2 Hours ago)

Tiz @amerakindesi: Staten along with Marty O'Donnell was a key figure at Bungie and is now Senior Creative Director at Microsoft, he joined too late to influence Halo 5, but just in time to start Halo 6. (2 Hours ago)
