505 unveils Deep Black, an underwater action game. This third person shooter is planned for a Q1 release on PS3 and Xbox 360. More info in the press release.
Agoura Hills, CA – July 8, 2010 – 505 Games today announced a global agreement with Russian developer Biart Studio LLC, to publish Deep Black on the Xbox 360TM video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system platforms.
Set to release in Q1 2011, the unique underwater setting of Deep Black combines action-packed battles with an immersive story line that blends science-fiction, espionage and bio-terror. Realistic underwater physics add intensity to this third-person action thriller.
With the majority of the gameplay taking place below the water’s surface, action-adventure fans will need to master new skills to fight hostile enemies and infiltrate enemy bases. Players will take to the murky depths armed with equipment ranging from specialized underwater jet packs with integrated harpoons, mini submersibles and other high-tech equipment to battle their submerged enemies.
I think it was apparent to people.. even before the system launched.. that the early launch of the Dreamcast was risky. So I can see how EA might want to play hardball to sweeten the deal on said risk (6 minutes ago)
They also sold 2K and exited the console business... so maybe it wasn't all the best course of action after all :D (8 minutes ago)
That's what I meant lol. NFL, not NHL. (9 minutes ago)
it's pretty shitty to deny a system because of Visual Concepts though. They hadn't even produced anything yet and EA was a giant even then (9 minutes ago)
EA's license is supposed to be up this year I think. I wish 2K could make an NFL game again. (10 minutes ago)
NFL2K was also the franchise that made it painfully obvious how little Madden was changing year to year. EA had to buy the NFL, and 2K bought the MLB in response I believe. (14 minutes ago)
Even though EA had their games on the Saturn and that flopped hard, the Saturn ran headlong into the famous "$299" mic drop moment. (29 minutes ago)
