505 unveils Deep Black, an underwater action game. This third person shooter is planned for a Q1 release on PS3 and Xbox 360. More info in the press release.
Agoura Hills, CA – July 8, 2010 – 505 Games today announced a global agreement with Russian developer Biart Studio LLC, to publish Deep Black on the Xbox 360TM video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system platforms.
Set to release in Q1 2011, the unique underwater setting of Deep Black combines action-packed battles with an immersive story line that blends science-fiction, espionage and bio-terror. Realistic underwater physics add intensity to this third-person action thriller.
With the majority of the gameplay taking place below the water’s surface, action-adventure fans will need to master new skills to fight hostile enemies and infiltrate enemy bases. Players will take to the murky depths armed with equipment ranging from specialized underwater jet packs with integrated harpoons, mini submersibles and other high-tech equipment to battle their submerged enemies.

@KORNdog: I saw a few recent 360 cameras being advertised as VR cameras and they're 2D. I think 360 video is pretty cool in general though. (49 minutes ago)
sony did quite a cool thing with a violin solo guy where they filmed it all with 3D cameras. but then converted all the elements into a 3D scene running in unity. (50 minutes ago)
I can kinda imagine VR in something like Battlefield being pretty incredible too but I'm not sure how well that would work with most people's stomachs. (51 minutes ago)
@GriftGFX: yeah, i can't say i've seen any though. even the stuff on youtube is stereoscopic. it just requires a fixed head position. no leaning forward etc. (51 minutes ago)
it can even stay third person, seeing as bound and the playroom VR platformer work really well. apparently FROM are making something for VR now though. i'm hoping for a new kings field. (53 minutes ago)
Getting annoyed at people marketing 2D 360 video as "VR" though.. that's not good enough. It's cool, but it's not good enough. (53 minutes ago)
