Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

Eidos has finally released a video for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. An opportunity to see the hero and the platform announced, that is Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Hopefully, more details will come at E3.

Kids in their bedrooms can make pretty CGI, completely meaningless.

What's wrong with CGI trailer? They never said it's supposed to show gameplay and all that? At least with a CGI trailer, I know what kind of style the game will have.

best news is that it's going to be more like Deux ex 1 than 2 - deux ex 1 is tied with HL2 as my all time favourite PC game

Shows nothing, proves nothing of what they will achieve, personally cannot stand them.

@ Passer - None of the DDL links worked. I had to torrent it.

Anyway...yeah, I'd have to side with Vit on this. The CGI was amazing, but I wanted to see the actual game.

Oh my god, please just leave if you're going to post meaningless CRAP about this.

Adults in their parent's basement can troll on forums.

How is my comment trolling? I'm sharing my opinion, in my opinion CGI is meaningless to show us something about a game, don't like my opinion don't read it, but it's not trolling so do one please.

If its that easy then go ahead and make some CGI stuff.

The trailer is great! Square Enix is making the CGI for the game, its gonna be awesome.

Sometimes it's better to just shut it. You said it later, that the CG doesn't really show the game to any extent, but don't belittle the work that goes in to making stuff like this. I think it's hard to grasp how slow working with 3d graphics and CG really is, unless you've tried it yourself.

As a gamer since the early 80s and as community manager of a PC game developer I don't like CGI trailers, just my opinion, no need to get all in a tizzy :)

Ah of course, the "don't like it don't read it" comment. Sir, pray tell, how will I know if I will like or dislike your opinion without READING it first?

What I got from the CGI trailer alone:

1. Renaissance influence in the game.
2. The beginnings of cybernetic implants.
3. Protagonist is on the run from authorities, perhaps he knows the truth?
4. City is a dystopia ala Blade Runner.
5. Icarus allusion may imply artificial AI ala the first game, or perhaps the protagonist will suffer consequences of his implants.
6. Cybernetic implants will give you an edge over your enemies. Stealth?

Yep CGI trailers are useless.

I'm a CG artist too, so I'm right with you. That being said, I don't like CG trailers either. CG is expensive and time consuming( it was probably farmed out, anyway). It's just really misleading most of the time( where games are concerned). I'd rather they save the effort, and show it when they can show the darn game...

Exactly.

Not sure why some of you confuse my dislike of CGI due to not showing ingame footage as some kind of "it's crappy CGI and takes no talent", that's nonsense, the CGI is obviously well made and obviously takes skill and talent to make, the point is there are thousands of skilled and talented people who can make very pretty CGI in their bedrooms, but their CGI wouldn't show me any more about how the game will look and play when I've purchased it than this one does. That's my point, I've waited 10 years for a follow up to the classic PC game (and no DE2 doesn't count for me as I think it's rubbish), so I just wanted to see, actually SEE how the game is going to look and play, not how pretty they can make some CGI look......

CG or not, this trailer did what it was supposed to: It got me interested about the game.

Different trailers serve different purposes, and this time it was about setting the tone and the mood. CG works for that perfectly, i know, we all PREFER a trailers with some gameplay etc. But no worries, those trailers are coming. For now, i gotta give kudos for the makers of THIS trailer for a job well done.

I think you are more likely to see something playable out of some bedroom coders lair than a full fledged CG trailer :P
