Been playing it all day now. The pure rally is excellent. Some of the other modes I don't like too much. The graphics are great, although the screenshots were better and are a bit misleading (I wonder which were actually from the PC-version?). The water splashing on the wind shield looks great, but it really blinds you for a second or 2 and it can be frustrating. The AI doesn't seem to have the problem of going blind for 2 seconds.

The chatter during races from Ken Block and others, is cheesy as hell.

Those are the negatives of the game for me. But it's a great race game if you are looking for fun. Me personally hope the next Dirt (stupid name really), will focus more on point to point rally, cuz that's where the game really shines.

In short: this is Grid in another package.

^pretty much. I made the mistake of selecting my real name. Now I have to hear it everytime I hit someone. I never thought I would be annoyed to hear my own name.

BTW, the handling is a lot better in the full game. I think it was that stupid eclipse that made it feel overly twitchy.

  • MrWhite
MrWhite Games, lower prices on things, and all firmware stuff sorted, and I see now reason why it wont be a success. So basically, about 6 months to a year to wait (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Basically the way I see it is this: it needs a handful of games, some sociable ones, and a few of its other niggling caveats to be consolidated as to be reasonable. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite as if they'd very little understanding of what the thing actually is, and what it's trying to do. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Yeah, most seem reasonable in their concerns. But it sounds resoundingly positive as far as the hardware goes. Unless you're IGN of course. They basically just shat on it (1 Hour ago)

GriftGFX Well DF's review was pretty good and hardly all positive. I think if you could find something in their review to validate either decision. (1 Hour ago)
