When I first heard of that shift feature, I thought what a stupid idea. Then I downloaded the sp demo and I thought it's as bad as expected and deleted it. Despite all that I gave the mp demo a chance and ever since I'm hooked and can't wait for tomorrow to get the full version.

"Awesome shift feature"? Oh dear who gave one of their PR reps access to gamersyde!

The shift feature is an horrific idea, one of the worst I can remember in gaming.

Considering all the reviews agree on that, then they must have all been written by their PR.

User reviews or "press" reviews? Because the general consensus from gamers that I've read is that the shift idea is a rubbish one.

The shift idea IS a great idea. Sadly some (emphesis on some) people cannot work past the context of the feature to see how fun it actually is.

But it depends on how you remember the series prior to this release. Was driver all about gameplay, driving and fun? Or was driver about getting out of your car, having piss poor on foot controls and shooting civies and cops? For me it was the former, so i see this as a return to form. For soem it is the later so they see this as a deviation from the series.

I find it kind of odd that despite how BAD driver 3 was. People, for whatever fucking reason, want this new game to be like it? Instead they do something innovative, unique and fun in regards to switching cars, and they get flack for it. I truely dont get it?

Driver 3 was a terrible game, it required at least 6 more months to be actually at a releasable state. What an horrible piece of shit that was. Maybe you could forget about all the bugs, glitches and other horrific stuff there and enjoy the game, but I couldn't (and most people didn't either).
As for the shift feature, it is indeed awesome and basically the whole game is built around it. It's *very* visible when you look at the laughable story, they first thought about the feature, and then try to fit a story around it.
Driver SF is not a perfect game, but I'm having much more fun with it than with any game I've played for quite a long time, and it's all thanks to the shifting ability.

I tried the offline demo last night, and I have to say I've had more fun with Burnout, and Midtown Madness so I'll pass on this title. I've tried logging on to the Ubisoft servers for 3 nights in a row, but they are always offline, so I have not tried out the multiplayer demo, but since the servers were offline, it didn't leave a warm and fuzzy feeling with me for what the retail could be like. I mean if they can't get the multiplayer demo servers running, can they guarantee that the retail release will run smooth? I'm going to pass.

Driving felt too floaty and arcadey for my tastes.

Car handling is different in the final version it seems. I liked it in the demo though.

Is that different as in better, or just different as in different. I actually liked the car handling from the demos. And if they made it better, great. But if they made it different, well what's the point of the demo? I'll have to check it out before I buy it now - again.

Driver was fantastic. This looks pretty good, but, does it have replays??
Driver was always about the cinematic replays of you smashing through boxes down tight alleys to myself and my mates. Does this have that?

I didn't know there was a "game's page". I just visit the site's front page and click on any interesting articles. You learn something new everyday. Maybe i'll check more out, or maybe i won't if everyones attitude sucks as hard as yours.

Oh my attitude sucks? I gave you the link, didn't I? So I should not tell you there is a game page is that what you mean? You know next time, I'll simply ignore your question and let you google the info. Talk about attitude...

Maybe you should just leave after all, we're such a bunch of jerks around here.

I always loved the Driver series, but this time I can't see past the visuals. Can't really enjoy the nice cars in this kind of yellow environment ... sad face ....
