this game looks beyond stupid. i never liked the series anyway, but they've done a chris redfield on him and injected him with steroids.

it's like developers saw the popularity of gears of war, and the one thing they thought caused such popularity was the musclebound lead characters...and now we have abnormally muscular characters like redfield that put brock lesner to shame.

animations are terible too which doesnt help matters.

He looks pretty average looking to me.

I really don't know what you are talking about here, he hardly looks like he is pumped full of steroids as you claim.

well I wouldn't say he's abnormally muscular but the animations are abit lacking and it doesn't come across as interesting in any way. So what they're focusing on bring melee and gunplay together woop-dee fooking doo. O well it's not like we lack better titles on both platforms to occupy our time.

This is great news. I'm a big fan of previous games :)

Come on now, there were muscle bound macho leads looong before Gears of War. I do agree with your feelings about this series, however. Chris Redfield didn't bother me at all, but this guy makes me think of the Hulk( look at the way he walks). The character design is not helped by the steriods, in fact it detracts from it...

Looks like it could be interesting. The animations are terrible yes, but unfortunately that seems to be standard for games, plus...it could be a lot worse (Infamous springs to mind).

I'm actually surprised they made this.

What kind of dog it is? It looks like a bear to me, way too big for a dog. Animation looks terrible very low textures...crap.

Great screens. Hopefully this will be more like the first game which I loved.

wow...that was horrible.

I love games where you have an animal sidekick, but...that was horrible.

The way he stood there doing the 'hit and turn around-wait and hit again-combo' thing....that was so scripted in a B-movie way.

Again, they could do good things with the dog.

Pictures #14 and #15 are fantastic. Jack Slate looks like he's 3 foot tall compared to the vehicles, is it any wonder the dog looks like a bear in comparison?! Although the cobbled stones in #4 make me think the dog is the size of a squirrel :) I agree about the Redfield look, it's so stupid to even try and copy Capcom. The combat comes across as a thinly veiled QTE everytime you fight someone - the way the camera pulls out so you can see the move being executed takes you out of the game. You'd think these guys would've used better templates than Gears, Bourne and GTA. Talk about unoriginal!1!

Furthmore, #14 makes me feel Grant City is a world of clones... Boring, open sparsely decorated environments, cloned baddies... I mean, that stairway in #6 is unbelieveably wide! I don't think I've seen such lifeless environments like this since Condemned 1 and FEAR!

Namco has wasted a lot of money and time ressurecting this especially as Max Payne 3 will be released at the same time!

I think with DTR people either love it or hate it... the games have always had this fully intended cheesy arcade feel to it, and this will probably be no different... except that it now looks more like a beat 'em up than before.

The irony is you're calling Vaan that in defense of a game devoid of women (there's like ONE) and full of sweaty, grunting, bulky army dudes.

Then go on to slag off heroines.. hmmm.

HMM. :)
