The quite controversial David Jones's Crackdown is back in video, with a 20 minutes long presentation. Here is the first half. More details below.
The developers spent most of the presentation showing us some of the "sandbox" aspects of the game. No missions, no story, no cutscenes to be seen in there. You'll just see the main character jumping everywhere, generating as much mayhem as possible and of course some car sequences, this is a GTA-like game after all. Personally I still have some reservations about this game, but it's so over the top that it could become very amusing. At least it will be if the devs take the time to rework the animation so we do not have this rather annoying feeling that this game is using the moon's gravity instead of earth's.
Technically as you'll be able to see by yourself it's much better than before. The game is smooth, the physics engine works nicely, the draw distance is ok and the city seems quite alive. We still do not really know what this game will be all about in the end, but we'll keep an eye open since it definitely has some potential.
Not that I care about the game anymore but LOL Michel Ancel.... (27 minutes ago)
"A beta version of Beyond Good & Evil 2 is due for release towards the end of 2019, creator Michel Ancel has said." (28 minutes ago)
@jmd749: between the specs and saying it's a few years away still i think it's safe to say it's a next gen console title. (1 Hour ago)
@KORNdog: that's a pretty high end PC rig for Cyberpunk. I really hope they don't dumb the AI down as a result of consoles weak ass CPUs. good AI is essential in a title like this. (1 Hour ago)
@KORNdog: they needed the publicity and also needed to make a good first impression in terms of the visuals. they are really good devs but I can;t help but think they have always been a bit dodgy (2 Hours ago)
@droezelke: which is probably why they don't want to show it. although it is weird that the xbox trailer is already downgraded compared to the main release of the trailer. (4 Hours ago)
@KORNdog: I other words: won't even look close to it on consoles :-) (4 Hours ago)
