Absolutely gorgeous, I can see this taking another 1400hrs of my time in a very short space of time, do I really need a PS4? ;D

Dat terrible PP. They should really turn that off for screenshots. If only they had adopted all of the ArmA 3 rendering benefits. THey could get rid of that terrible "bloom" effect and at least have a decent one. Not to mention better shadows. Oh well, hard to expect much from this given the size of the team. Still looks like a decent move up from the mod, although the gameplay looked questionable...

Yeah, the footage I seen of it looked like it wasn't a massive step up from the mod, which had a incredible atmosphere, but was ropy in technical areas to say the least. Technical issues aside (depends on the money Rocket's team was given there) I do think the artists should be doing a better job with the design of these zombies. They aren't nearly scary enough to look at.

I don't know. I still think that looks very shoddy. Even in pre alpha, it looks like they have a very, long, long way to go to polish this up. It's good that they've simplified the inventory and the UI, but really, what else have they been doing? Loads of clipping issues, and the animations look wank, even if the Zeds have improved, they still need a tremendous amount of work. I'd personally like to see the spawn inside buildings, so when you enter a building, you're still not completely safe. It'd also be good to be able to take over certain buildings for safe houses.

Tbh me and a few guys were sat in mumble tonight and we're commenting on the video and we all said exactly what you have stated. That jumping animation on the z looked ludicrous as did the terrible animations on the player.

Rocket stated last year that he wanted people to take over towns and barricade themselves in and I'm yet to see anything that resembles that. I said it last year, they've bitten off more than they can bite (no pun intended there).

I think,that everyone who plays DayZ now, is amazed by the new look. It has to be polished in terms of bugs, but I love the graphics. Its mostly about great fun and unfair killing. :-D

I'm not being funny Zat but i run with around 20+ people who play DayZ and Breaking Point and all have said it looks too nice. It's a zombie apocalypse, it needs to be grim, it need's to be depressing and it also needs to put the shits up you! Would love to know who 'everyone' is because the general consensus is that they don't.

The main problem with DayZ and why people got bored quick was the KoS mentality, that only came about because after people realised they could outrun Z's and they posed no real threat there was nothing left to do but kill other players.

They need camps, towns where clans etc can hold/barricade, vehicles/buildings that you can actually lock, missions ala wasteland, top tier weapons out, zombies like White said that are in houses, zombies that are basically everywhere, hordes of zombies akin to something like L4D where you can be ambling along only to be confronted by a large group of them.

Btw i played this game when it came out, from may to dec last year i clocked up over 1200hrs so i kinda know the in's and out's of this game now ;)
