Looks like...more Halo 3. I personally have a hard time being hyped over this cause while halo 3 wasn't bad i just never found it to be that great either. It was a competent shooter, nothing really bad but nothing exceptionally good either. By the looks of it this is the same thing but with a new main character :P

Don't you mean Halo: Reach? Regardless, I'm excited for ODST. I'm more than looking forward to the return of what looks to be an equal to the original Halo's pistol.
Eh, I'm not the biggest fan of Halo - I enjoyed Halo 3, but didn't think it was anything particularly special - but the gameplay video really impressed me.
that really didnt impress me on any level. i'm not a big fan of halo 3 as it is, but to see this is basically halo 3 with a new player skin is incredibly dissapopinting to me, i was hoping for something along the lines of killzone 2, a really gritty "different" feeling experience...but this just looks like more of the same.
The fact that you're not a Spartan, and actually play through the narrative (which Bungie is very good at) through multiple perspectives is totally not just "more of the same." This game looks very promising.. and with the promise of entry into the Reach beta, no Halo fan is going to be able to resist this. I'm psyched.
If you don't care about Halo than it's really not shocking that you don't care about ODST.
Can't say the Halo ODST stuff shown got me excited. I'm curious in seeing the new Halo Project and look forward in (most likely) participating in the beta, but ODST just didn't look all that, well...exciting.
It was cringeworthy when the bloke was on stage presenting it - pausing for applause, to simply hear silence. It was completely unimpressive with no real tension or urgency added to the gameplay.
I think the decision to give the DARE character a recon helmet is halarious personally.
As a Halo fan myself, I was always going to pick this up, but it seems like there are some cool extra things in there beyond what we were expecting: New co-op mode, Reach beta access. Which is just icing on the delicious, 1000G cake.
BTW, maybe I'm crazy, but the demo Joe Statan gave had a slightly CoD feel to me. Bungie been taking notes from rivals eh? :D
Edit: huh, this is different to what Joe showed in the conference. Ah well, this still gives some extra glimpses.
I'm very interested to know what the full capabilities of this "Firefight" mode are. Is it just like Gear's Horde or something more? Either way, it seems like it'll be fun. Horde was pretty much the only MP mode in Gears I ended up playing much at all TBH.

If it's really as much like 3 as everyone is reiterating I will skip this. 3 was boring for me. I wanted to keep enjoying Halo but the franchise became luke warm. This looks to continue that for the most part
Watchin the odst available on the marketplace it looks like it has a much cleaner graphical style than halo3. Dont get me wromg the art style mis fundamentally halo bu tthe texture work looks a lot cleaner and ther is nowhere the level of horrible alaising found in Halo 3. Looks like they have got to grips with the engine
good gameplay (its halo), better cinematic than halo 3, decent graphics but lacks character. the other halo's had master chief to define it. this looks like mindless shooting which is fun but nothing to remember about

Really, the whole Halo thing is getting somewhat stagnant and boring now. I'm really starting to think the first Halo was a fluke. and even it had a big flaw in it's design: repitiveness. It's all starting to look really too familiar now. Change the tune, Bungie. You're being found out.

Wow, not very impressive at all. The halo fans, all 8 million of them will probably make this game sell great, but I didn't want another Halo 3 add on. The new maps for the MP will be the only thing keeping me interested in this game. That and the beta for Reach. If that game doesn't have a proper graphics engine I'm going to all but give up hope on Bungie this gen. Hope to god i'm wrong.
So people were expecting a Halo 3 expansion to be wildly different? Weird. The fact that you're being given more human constraints and driven through a narrative told from multiple angles is more then enough to get me on board. Halo 3 rocks.

Game just needs one thing to be more playable in the graphical department versus Halo 3: fix the jagginess.
I welcome any expansion to the best sanbox shooter out there.
