As usual now there is very little chance we'll ever find a true high quality version of the E3 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. So here is our version filmed during Sony's press conference. At least it's 60 fps!
Only annoying thing is, Big Boss has that dumb shrapnel in his forehead, wish he had classic bandana instead.
I dont know if i will get this or not, but they definitely have made the movements much more fluid and actiony for him compared to before (like Ground Zeroes) so thats a big plus.
Don't like the look of this really. A lot of character has been lost both thematically, and character wise. I miss the days when MGS was a convoluted, weird but oh so wonderful anime-esque game...now it's splinter cell in an open world while covering serious subjects like child soldiers. All the while a shitty imposter of a voice over is pretending to be big boss...
but ultimately i feel i need to check it out for the sake of narrative closure...

I definitely understand why you dont like it for sure since Hayter been there since day 1 of the series, so his voice is one of the key elements of what makes Snake...Snake.

Exactly. It's a frustrating change the same way losing ironside was frustrating in splinter cell. Or how it would be frustrating if nolan north wasn't drake in uncharted 4. Those voice actors are those characters. Changing it kills the character. I'd have much rather MGS (and splinter cell blacklist) introduced NEW player characters if they wanted to use a new voice actor after so long. At least then keifer is some new guy, not an imposter pre tending to be snake.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... too funny, as much as it hurts me you are right, i understand maybe why they shoved sock in his gob, but it still hurts the only guy that could bring it hayter, like when they chnaged harley quinn and the jokers voice, people say it dont matter but to fan of the joker and harley like me you notice it..
and losing ironside was mental, i refuse play any splinter cell without his voice, sad, but as fan i notice these little things that make up the games i play
I have to disagree on Sutherland, I think he work and has a better inflection in his voice then Hayter. A great example is in MGS3's ending with Naked Snake laughing alongside Eva, it was truly cringe worthy... He only works when its under a mentor manner explaining things rather actual person to person conversation. Not to mention the use of his facial capture for the final game, so it just makes more sense, to me that is.
Don't get me wrong, Snake will always be David Hayter but the range that Sutherland can reach is much more preferable performance wise.
The only thing that worries me is that Kojima might be reaching too far up his own ass in terms of his ego with the series.

Hey I totally agree, i would hate to hear they changed Ryu Hayabusa's japanese VO as well since he is perfect especially during his attacks. And that Ironside change for Splinter Cell? wtf!
But its changed really, now all they can do is to make sure Sutherland nails a good performance and based on his 24 and COD I like it, it could be worse.
Impressive cloth physics. Two really in depth trailers I wonder if this is coming out sooner rather than later, kojima needs to stop trolling and I need to hurry up and finish peace walker.

I hate voices that tries to sound dark and gritty so they force it into it so its "macho" like Snake, Marcus Fenix and Adam from Deus Ex HR.
