I agree that some textures look bad. Look at the picture number 9 on the ground and number 13 the background. But stuff like this happens.
It looks tempting but I'm afraid it would be one of those 'short experience' games like Fracture and so on.

You mean one hit wonder, where it banks on one feature.

I dont know about the short experience,it may be a 10-12 hour game but replay value is where is at,this has a score system and this Mikami we are talking about,it will be nothing sorts of amazing and genre defining just like my precious Bayonetta.

As for the screens Im injecting them to my veins as we speak!!

Nah, I meant that you get through the game, it's over and you feel like you're not quite satisfied. I like games that let you come back to try to do things differently or go different ways. I like high replay value. But to be honest there aren't many games like that today like it used to be on PC or Playstation 2. Most of them were rpgs or strategies, but even 3D shooters. But I guess that's what this age is about, there's not much time to make the actual content. Just put something together quick and then spend the rest of the budget on graphics. Can't say I blame them, money dictates.

Injecting screens, lol.

Background in 13? That's the DoF effect I think your talking about. And a texture looking bad isn't that big a deal, if you want to complain about /ground/ textures, your gunna be here all day. The ground is the most likely place to see bad textures. And there is another texture right next to the one you mentioned that looks real sharp and clean, with good detail textures.
This game looks awesome though, and I don't think you should be worried about this being like Fracture. Fracture was bad, where as this is being developed by people who know how to make a game well, and it's looking pretty insane. Maybe a bit much to handle for extended periods of time, but Fracture seems like a bad comparison.

Nah, I don't wanna complain. I was just trying to find out what could've been hotkirby talking about.
I also thought that the bg in the picture was DoF but it's still a very bad looking one as there is no way you get something like that in a real camera. It doesn't look realistic and most importantly doesn't fit the whole image.
Well, Fracture was the first thing that popped into my mind when I wanted to compare this to something. Alternative american future, hi-tech armor, army, third-person view, etc.

When Mikami said he was creating a shooter I almost lost respect for the guy. Then I saw footage of this game and thank god it's no FPS. Thank god there's no cheesy multiplayer/co-op. It looks insanely fun, even.

Everyone is loving the game at E3 and I mean everyone!!

The same thing happened with Bayonetta and I expected no less fron Mikami and Platinum games.

Simply the best around.

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @Moonwalker: That's a little suspect, since standing out in the open in either of those other games will get you killed pretty quickly too. Using cover is a bread and butter FPS skill set. (3 minutes ago)

Moonwalker and expect to survive for more than a few seconds. It forces you to think strategically, to plan ahead and use cover at all times' 8.5, 8 from eurogamer as well. But this sounds exactly what i hoped 4 (22 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker IGN Future Soldier quote : "Play Future Soldier as you would Call of Duty or Battlefield and you won’t last long. It’s a punishing game in some respects, and you cannot stand out in the open (23 minutes ago)
