Damn its great, finally someone who can play this damn demo, unlike GT and IGN who sucks more than 10 year trying to kill the first enemy in Mario :P

Thx Mizuhara, great gameplay!

Can we expect Ayane as well?

About the gore and carnage...what does it have to do with PS3? It's just what Hayashi wanted, has more various color coming out instead of red all over the place...but I agree, I want blood to spray out when I kill the humans, but whatever.
The essence from the decapitations makes it look abit elegant and artistic with its shape, pretty cool.

But, new modes, weapons, levels, music and bosses...yes please!

No sorry, I didn't get a chance to capture Ayane. Sorry! :(

Ah, its all good, thx anyway though :)

From watching all the GT and IGN footages it made me wonder if they reduced the pace of the combat in Sigma 2, but when you played it, seems not. I guess they naturally suck at these type of games.

I owned NG2 and played it for god knows how many weeks non stop, this is the same Ryu that was also in NG2.

This demo is on Acolyte (only difficulty to offer at E3 as Ryu) so it has less aggressive enemies so you don't need to go very fast.

And they reduced how many enemies coming at you at the same time, so no more hordes of IS spamming off screen or IS spamming in general to get frustuated.

I do not agree

Ryu: Your movements are much slow in Sigma

I do not agree
I didn't expect you to.

Watch youtube videos, don't forget to type in "Acolyte" after Ninja Gaiden 2.

But for someone (me) who played NG2 on Acolyte, Warrior, Mentor, trust me, the speed and combat style of NGS2 hasen't been touched from NG2.

I played NG2 at my cousins friend house last week, I am not seeing any speed or combat differences here from what I played last week.

They however did reduce the speed of the UT moves here just a tiny bit, and I like it because in NG2 the UT was way too fast to keep up with the cool moves and it ended quick.
But here, they made it a bit slower to see how Ryu does all his awesome moves in the UTs, makes you appreciate what TN did.

But other than that, it's the same to me.

God the purple mist is insanely lame now. Speed looks about the same to me. I need to see more from this game. I still don't see any good reason to buy this, having bought NG2.
Commented on 2009-06-08 14:48:46
its the same speed in ngs2 than in ng2. i actually played the level that looks like this in the demo and the only thing that was different was the missing gore. it looks more like ng for the xbox but even this was a bit bloodier.

master ninja very fast, 25 Enemies every 20 seconds, In 30 square meters, Blood in walls and soil with as art, Bodies for all sides, and finally to clean your weapon is greattttttttttttttt. saludos Brother

All the ninja gaiden are good, They are my favorites

the sigma 2. I continue it seeing a bit much slow . Excuse

Exactly what I am thinking.
Seems like Hayashi is going with NG route in terms of a few enemies compared to a room filled with enemies that spam grabs, and IS at you.
And the blood and gore being toned down to NG rather NG2.
Posted by rodrigogo
NG2's design was about alot of enemies coming at you at the same time, with MN the AI is much more aggressive and the design was that every turn you made there would be quite a few enemies coming towards you.
And unfortunetly, most enemies coming at you was ninjas with IS and they spammed it!

And you can still shake your weapon and the blood would splash on the ground.

Compare that to god of war 3, its funny how much incompetent Itagaki is :-)

Slow? You cant even say if this video was captured with 60fps. It was too slow for me.
On youtube you can find 2 gameplay videos of Ayane and the game is as fast as the original :P

yeah, yeah SIGMA 2 and the almighty Hayashi.... I think he removed some enemies to:

a) make the game more like NG1

b) prevent slowdowns (the NG engine is still good looking but shows its age in NG2....)

c) at least on akolyth, to make a playtrough for everyone possible lol

And Sath is right. Everything from NG2 is still in SIGMA 2. Ok, not the blood and flying body parts. But who cares. I want more content.

BTW, Am I the only one who loves the purple essence. I think it looks pretty cool.

@Thor

Itagaki?

btw, IMO you cant even compare these 2 games. God of War was a button masher with boring scripted Boss fights. And NG is a very hard, challenging and fast action game where mashing buttons means your death.

What IS a scripted boss fight?
Commented on 2009-06-08 17:41:05
Ive been playing NG2 lately and yes it looks a tad slow but not much I don't know why is that,Ryu move faster in NG2.

As for that purple stuff it wont break the game whatsoever it only looks stupid when you cut the head of some ninja and purple stuff comes out when it should be spraying blood everywhere like it should be.

Anyone that didn't get a chance to play NG2 on the 360 should definitely check this out. It's an exceptional game. That being said, it was a horrible design choice to remove most of the gore and decapitations like that.

How about you actually find out who the developer of this game is before you choose to insult them with an ignorant comment like that. Itagaki doesn't even work for this company anymore.

He was just referring to the fact that a portion of each boss fight in GoW is done with QTE (quick time events). They're all scripted animations and moves at that point.

Loved the original, especially NG Black, on the Xbox, hated the Xbox 360 sequel as it seemed lazy and somewhat unfinished. The horrendous slowdown in sections of the game and the cheap ass rocket launcher dudes just ruined the game for me. A wasted opportunity IMO and it was graphical underwhelming too; didn't even run at 720p for goodness' sakes!
