You can still use weapons in the water, that's pretty cool.

I wonder why someone who doesn't know how to play these games would come to the booth anyway instead of just watching someone else.

Most of the people who play these games don't actually know how to play these games :D

Well, many players just want to try the game. Whats the fucking problem? I like BF, but many BF players act like fucking morons, who think they are superior to any other player. Thats childish.

I don't have a problem. I had a stream of randoms playing it up in the background for hours today :D

My point was actually that many people that play the game aren't like.. very great at it. People have interest in things they're not always great at. That's cool.

What else can they really do to make it BF4?

I mean would you be saying BF3.1 if they had changed the music & the overall visual style?

That's an obvious statement since this came out so quickly after 3

2142 came out less than a year after BF2.

I'd say 3.5 though :D

Yes but tbh it was a completely different in some respect, there were no Titans on BF2 G :)

Ya, cause you know multiplayer BF3 had entire citys collapsing and skyscrapers falling down in multiplayer, watch something besides some idiot in 1 tiny area that cant play for crap

If you think all the buildings in the city, besides one or two are going to be collapseable you are a fool.
The game is going to have a huge lack of destruction just like 3. They'll continue to ignore the destruction levels they had in Bad Company

It's called game design. Bad Company stank. Oooh you could level shacks. Big whup. How many skyscrapers are there in that game? Not to mention: There are totally large, non-destructible buildings in all of its best maps!

That's a new mechanic. Maps have events you can set off that change the map layout. It's scripted. It's significant. It's based on the map design. Yeah. Level design. That's why there's "less" destruction in BF3.

3.5 for sure. But they're doing a lot of the right things. It's obviously still in progress. Heck, they won't be able to balance it until the beta starts. And since it's DICE they'll listen to too much feedback. Because that's what DICE does. They listen. A lot. Too much. Too all the cry baby, pub-scrub noobs. They listen to everyone. And they try to please everyone. And it rarely works :D

I've watched a lot of siege. It looks good. They've made a lot of changes that have me both excited and anxious. Mostly anxious about the medic changes, since they represent significant things to adapt to. But I think that's cool. Getting explosives off of Support alone was a big step toward a better game.

DICE makes a lot of games. They make them fast. This isn't the fastest turn around for Battlefield by a long-shot, but it is clearly the more of a half-step than a side-step (as in 2142). I'm more worried about them adding Battlefront to their line-up and what it will do to the Battlefield schedule. Hopefully LA takes Battlefront.

I love how people act like BC2 had some amazing destruction. It had more destructible buildings because everything was a cookie cutter house or shack. Maps with significant structures had far less of it (like Panama Canal). And they're also the best maps in that game. I also love how people pretend like the destruction in BF3 isn't significant. Because it still has a fantastic impact.

Have they said if this will be a next gen launch title?
Commented on 2013-06-13 05:40:20
I don't know if they've said, but the 360/PS3 and PC versions come out in October. You would hope that next gen was a big priority too. I mean the 360/PS3 versions should have been handled by interns :D

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Personally i find Kojima rather overrated. Yes MGS and MGS3 were fantastic, 2 wasn't nearly as good, same for 4 and 5....nah. (49 minutes ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus @jmd749: Kojima Productions is independent. wrap that and give it away to your other half. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Ultimates do drive big plays. Don't think it makes everyone Seagull. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I've played a ton of Halo too. Just not Halo 5 because I'm not a masochist. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @Tiz: "Individual skill" still drives top players to become top players in OW. The team with the better comp *and* better players is going to win. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @Tiz: Eh.. "more dependant on individual skill" is one way to look at it. (1 Hour ago)
  • jmd749
jmd749 @droezelke: it's awesome that one of the greatest minds in game development is given funding and respect. And using a hardware specific engine for his new game suggests he'll be a Sony 1st party dev. (1 Hour ago)
