The Last of Us was as expected the highlight of Sony's press conference, with this long gameplay sequence that Ghost_Deus just uploaded. MAJ : Direct feed walkthrough added.
It looks very good indeed, even from the video you can feel the tension when you are outnumbered and scrambling for a few bullets to take the "bad guys" out.
The only thing that keeps me from really loving this game is the fact that when you played the singeplayer once, you are done with it. And considering there is no multiplayer, €60,- is too much for a singlepayer.
It may be good, but look at Red Dead Redemption. When you completed the main story(which was very good) there was nothing fun left anymore to do.
Nevertheless, this is AAA material and Sony has another good game in their line-up.
Okay, there are exceptions like the Uncharted series because the story is engaging.
Rockstar's games are only fun one time, after that it becomes boring. I don't know why. Maybe this game is different but I need to see more varied gameplay, if not it is the same game every level.
How interactive are the fights though? It looked like you just charge at a guy and it goes into a fight. It would be neat if you had control of how you fight.

The only thing that puts me off this game is the idea of zombies. It really doesn't need them.
I was expecting something a bit more ambitious like I Am Alive (unpredictable enemy behavior) than just Uncharted with less bullets, but the inventory system gave hope.
Looked great with a ton of atmosphere, but I couldn't help but think that this guy just has no fucks to give about putting this girl in harm's way. Ah well, better than having to baby her along the whole game.

I really like that Naughty Dog dares to try something new and not make a game that is completely focused on action. This feels more intense to watch than the non stop action in other games.
I think this looks incredible, and way better than I tought it would, the combat is visceral and great, teh attention to detail is amazing just at his hands when he is just standing, he moves them very realistic.
Pretty surprised now that I saw it in action, will keep an eye on this for sure.
Wow if this is truly how fights take place the whole unscripted time then i'm about as impressed as i could get. I really don't think PS3 has anything other than the Uncharted series of any real worth but this looks to crap on that as well. The nature of how Uncharted plays put me off it but this looks different

Just watched it in HD. And i love how the blood on joels face trickes down towards his ear when that guy tacles him to the floor. Must be scripted, but it's those little details that put ND head and shoulders above the competition imo. They are wizzards. And as much as i'm against a new generation of consoles right now, i'd be lying if i said i wasnt intererest to see what they could do with new hardware.
this is looking great, cannot wait to play it, there really is some morality issues with this game, i felt myself uncomfortable with that end kill when guy screamed don't,wonder if you can do just take downs without killing like knocking them out

As i said in the images comments, i hope they build tension with the infected. Imagine if they only came out at night and they where tough as hell to take down. That would make any encounter with them far more impactful. I just hope they dont throw them at you like cannon fodder, cos then their ability to increase tension, and even scare, just flys out the window. They need to use them sparingly. Similar to how resi 3 used the nemesis. Only less cheesy.
