All-new accessories to fuel the new generation of gaming
Launching alongside Xbox One this November, a new lineup of best-in-class accessories
will make your new-generation gaming experiences more immersive, precise and accessible:
• Xbox One Wireless Controller. The Xbox controller is refreshed with more than 40
technical and design innovations. Updated directional pad, thumb sticks and contours
deliver greater precision and control, while new vibrating impulse triggers offer precise
fingertip feedback, bringing an unprecedented level of gameplay immersion.4 The Xbox
One Wireless Controller is designed to work in concert with the new Kinect, allowing the
two to be paired automatically to create seamless player syncing.
• Xbox One Play & Charge Kit. This kit includes a lithium ion rechargeable battery pack that fits inside the Wireless Controller as well as a charging cable that connects from the Controller to the console. Gamers can play on and on without having to buy a single disposable battery. The new Play & Charge Kit charges twice as fast as its Xbox 360 counterpart and charges during gameplay or when the console is in standby mode. The Kit is available for standalone purchase or as part of the Wireless Controller with Play & Charge Kit bundle.
• Xbox One Chat Headset. A must-have for fans of online gaming, the new Xbox One Chat Headset, wired to the controller, is designed for long gaming sessions and clear voice chat. With a lightweight and comfortable new design, the mono chat headset features wideband digital audio and a unidirectional microphone. Gamers will love not having to take their hands off the controller to access the microphone mute and volume controls.

With the games they are offering, I dont think so, especially with their console feature requirements and the price.

ah but does it come with a HDMI lead???

Chat header? you mean it doesn't come with a headset?

£529??? better not be. £420 they said. And you're looking at over £500 with that when a games thrown in and 12months of live. Noticed only 14days of free live with the console now instead of a full month - Nasty microsoft

It's not £529, it's £429.

Still extremely expensive. I don't think MS has learnt from Sony's mistake. But this means PS4 will be around a similar price. Damn, no next-gen console for me for at least a year after release.

also what do we get for the value of gold after 10 free games? does it just go back to normal then...whilst ps+ still offers some real value for its price. Doesn't sound like its a long term plan does it

Where does the price come from?

The 360 Premium was 400€ and technically, for its time more advanced, no?

What they showed so far was not very convincing imo... not for this amount of money.

400 dollars worth of MOBO, PS, CPU, GPU, and kinect. 500 dollar price tag.

The hardware is shit in relation to what is currently available in the market and they charge MORE then last gen?

PS4 isn't burdened by shipping with a pointless peripheral like kinect, but on the other hand Sony have to pay for the much quicker GPU and RAM.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the PS4 was cheaper at launch. Maybe not by much, perhaps 10% or so.

Don't forget US/EU currency rate (which seems to be 1:1 here in germany like... ever?). In all seriousness, MS can kiss my ass next gen, no way i am going to support this idiocy.

Garbage. Do they really think they can charge 500 dollars for gimped hardware?? WTF. The PS4 has better hardware and will probably be cheaper. MS Xbox division's dying days are here.

People have no problem spending $500 these days on a new iPad, I see no reason why a much more powerful all-in-one should be cheaper.

I see the outright steal between currencies didn't go out of fashion. 499 euros = 660 dollars. And we're likely to see the same shit on Marketplace now that the MS Points are gone.

I certainly do not have the kind of money to buy this. And even if I did, I wouldn't waste it on this shit. Not before I know everything there is to know about DRM, subscriptions, 24h online connection, etc...

RIP Xbox. As a former Xbox and 360 fan turned away by horrible quality and customer service (RROD's), I really can't see this thing succeeding at all.

Their ego has gotten too big. Not only are they trying to force multiple incredibly unpopular features on consumers (bundled kinect, always on internet, DRM BS, always watching cameras etc etc), but they also have few interesting games and now have the gall to charge $500 for the thing AND still charge for internet (gold). As long as Sony avoids the pitfalls Microsoft is jumping into, this should be the most lopsided generation of consoles in a looooong time...

Went thru 2 RROD's, love the 360 but.. just no. Make it $499 worldwide at least, even so ppl said it's a lot.

Right. People use iPads (and other tablets) for music, school, surfing online, books, note taking, etc. in addition to playing a couple games. Not to mention people who use it in place of a laptop which makes it far more valuable than any console.

Which is one of the reasons why MS went out of their way on the reveal to show the other things it does besides gaming. Remember MS is the company pushing entertainment and gaming. The One is way more powerful than any tablet you can name so I don't think its that big of a deal.
