E3: THQ Nordic to publish Wreckfest

In early access since 2014, Bugbear's demolition derby game Wreckfest will finally get a full release this year on PC and in 2018 for console versions thanks to THQ Nordic who partnered with the developer. The game will receive first many updates in the following months, including career mode, car customization, more cars and tracks and a new multiplayer server.

True successor for the original PS1 classic Destruction Derby. This is a really fun, and very underlooked racing title. I hope it sells well.

Yeah, couple of years. It was an early access thing. A bit of a passion project like Dirt Rally was. It's got everything you'd want from a game of this sort, though. All it was lacking was a comprehensive career mode and a few different gameplay variations.

I hope this comes with the flatout style minigames, like high jump etc. They were honestly the best part of the old games.

About the game

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And they have their own stories to tell, their own games to design. If they're making a new film in a franchise you enjoy, do you also not care who makes it? (23 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Yeah, I wouldn't want Naughty Dog anywhere near Half Life. They'd turn it into a generic and linear run of the mill action shooter that looks good, but overrated. (25 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX It's not like those people working on this imaginary game aren't working on other real games instead anyway. Nothing is lost. (36 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And I don't prefer to have "nothing" because I bother to recognize Valve's actual game development. (36 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX "I don't care who develops it" is a really weird thing for a person who cares about games to say. (37 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX But I understand that thought process in today's highly branded market. Gotta have that franchise name attached to a product to care about it. (38 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @Sdarts: No, I prefer creators keep their content to themselves instead of farming it out to third parties because it's a terrible way to make video games. (38 minutes ago)
