It looks pretty good, but seriously, are they supposed to build any sort of friendship after that? If I was him, I don't think I'd ever be able to resist the urge to snap her neck if she ever does take the band off.

It made much more sense in the original source material of which this is a pathetic "re-imagining" as the monkey character was a monkey god and the female character was a priestess.

I grabbed the demo from the US store before PSN went down and played through it. Can't say I was impressed.

The characters look great, although are very floaty when running about in game, but pretty much everything else I disliked.

Firstly the voice acting, it's shockingly bad. Andy Serkis is a Brit, and the dev team is British, and yet Serkis is attempting some sort of comedy New York cabbie voice. It's absolutely terrible.

Then there's the camera, which has a mind of it's own and loves to point directly at the player while keeping all enemies off screen. It also swings left and right randomly, and the right analogue stick is virtually disabled during combat so it's impossible to actually fix the camera's mistakes.

The climbing stuff is very guided, so much so it's impossible to fail. Think of that Prince of Persia game from a few years back. It may as well just be all cut scene based as there's so little gameplay in it.

As for the combat, it's standard button mashing stuff and pretty simplistic too. Perhaps more complexity will come later in the game.

I wasn't even that impressed with the visuals. Aside from the characters and the nice pre-rendered cut scenes it all has that flatly lit scruffy Unreal engine look, with normal maps set aggressively high and no ambient occlusion.

So yeah, I didn't think much of it.

You can just youtube it and watch it, no need for someone to record and upload it.

this game is seriously terrible. not one thing about it comes across as particualrly well made or polished. animations are badly done, controls are clunky and delayed, platforming is painfully automated, combat is mind numbingly simple, voice acting is crap (i really dont like andy serkis's fake yank accent) lip syncing is off (much, MUCH worse then HS), character models are bad, aliasing is horrendous, general performance (screen tearing, framerate) makes the game nigh on unplayable, motion blur is disorientating, the art is too busy, atmosphere is lacking (the scene where you threaten the guard to get your weapons by silently punching the terminal near him is so cringe worthy) little to no urgency or tention (climbing on the outside of a crashing airship is anything but exciting or intense)

it's so bad on so many levels.

only good thing i can say about it is that is has a really nice soundtrack that seems to be comprised mostly of string instruments. other then that, terrible...based on the demo of course.

@Sath Yes but only Gamersyde upload these awesome quality low compressed videos and when i watch them i feel like i am playing the game.
Youtube is ok but quality of vids uploaded there is poor even in HD(low bitrate, lots of macroblocks).
