preorder or pay 10$ for the games, i choose tho preorder :)....

wait so early access is 10$ to get them, or you preorder you get them early.... but they will come with the games regardless....

seems like a good bit of options

800 points for something that will be bundled with the game when it's released seems a bit ridiculous. Anyone interested in Fable 2 is likely gonna end up pre-ordering in this case. I'd feel really sorry for people who will end up paying for it (unless all they want are the mini games and not the actual game they're associated with...)

The point of getting the games early is so that you can build up money for the actual game ahead of time. The money you earn in the XBLA games will transfer to Fable 2.

So hang on a second here! If you preorder the game you get the code to download them for free in August ? and if you dont preorder the game, you'd have to pay for them even if you end up buying the game in October... am I understanding this correctly ???? This obviously means the arcade games WONT be in the game's dvd! and the only way to getting them for free is to preorder now, otherwise it's 800MP even after the game is released.

Pre-ordering.
Commented on 2008-07-07 22:44:34
Not that any of it matters.
I was preordering anyways.
I was just waiting for an official announcement
on the Collector's Edition before I did.
This and the Survival Edition of Fallout 3.
I'm set.

just another example of publishers this generation taking out existing content and charging extra for it.

I believe you have to pre-order the limited edition..which is always £10+ extra. If you dont you then have no choice but to pay for the dlc if you want to experience a game to its full extent...is it not enough that microsoft charge us an extra £40 a year for live in order to give us the "option" to play 100% of the game we've just bought?

Whats the difference between this and what EA were planning with battlefied?

I think it's pretty genius to allow you to get a head start on a game before it's released a few months later, but hey that's just me

I don't think it's a big deal either. Most people interested in the game are going to pre-order it anyways, so this is basically just a freebie in my mind.

Hows it a freebie when the only way you can play it is by paying extra for the limited edition or the game, or paying extra for dlc? What it is is basically them taking out existing game code that was originally going to be in the standard game and charging you extra for it.

I'm all for added extra's in limited additions but they should be just that..extra's, not something originally planned and developed with the game as a whole in mind..thats why its no different that what EA were wanting to do with Battlefield untill everybody started complaining. Extra's shouldnt come at the experience of the game..it should be things additional to the game contents..such as models, t shirts ect.

I am going to pre-order now.

Gold earned in the three XBLA games (which will also be available as a single 800 MS pt. download) can be transferred to Fable 2, giving players a head start on their adventuring career in Albion. Those who don't need a head-start, the pub games will be included in both the standard and special edition versions of Fable 2.

Going to be in ALL versions, not just the Limited edition like was originally reported.. preordering will just get you a stand alone version of them earlier. Same with buying on market place.

I'm not sure what the complaining is about. The way I understand it is you can pre-order Fable 2 and get the minigames in advance for free, you can choose not to pre-order Fable 2 and pay for the minigames to get them in advance, OR you can just buy the game when it comes out and play the mini-games then.

The pre-order/800ms point fee is only for advanced access to the games to accumulate money and spend it on things before the game is released. You won't miss out on the mini-games if you just buy Fable 2 when it's released.

EDIT: In other words, they are NOT holding back on something that's in the game to just nickel and dime us. You will be able to play the mini-games when you buy Fable 2.

u are exatcly rite and all those other ppl are complainin for no reason cause u get the mini games no matter wat. and if u do happen to pre-order it u can always get ur money back after or jus switch it to another game after u get ur code to download the mini-games. so no one really should be complainin.

They're not xbla games, they're mini games from the main game... like gta pool/bowling/darts. They're being cut out of the main game early and sold as standalone. But at first it was reported that they would be cut out of the standard edition altogether..and sold as dlc.

I didn't read anything saying that the mini-games are being cut out of the main game. Read my above post.

These games will cost points to download in advance but will be included for free in Fable II.
Someone totally needs to bust out a "Jump to Conclusions" mat.

EDIT: Also as per the MGS/Lionhead press release:

“Keystone,” “Spinnerbox” and “Fortune’s Tower” will also be embedded as part of the full retail copy of “Fable II” (limited collector’s and standard editions).

Pretty sure if you read the top, it's for general pre-orders. It doesn't matter if it's the special edition or not

That does seem to be the trend doesn't it..

If I'm not mistaken, weren't these games were developed outside of LH?

I've had the game pre-ordered for a while now, so hopefully I'll be getting these.
I'm torn two ways about the idea of being able to buy everything the moment I set foot in Albion.. but I'll see how goes. Maybe I'll appreciate the extra gold in my pocket.

I hope we'll see some oldies making a comeback. Pub golf ftw

So they expect you to pay real life money to be able to ruin the balance of the game when it's released......
Slowly building a fortune in fable was a lot of fun, if you just start out the game with a shitload of cash it will detract from the whole point of the game.

But the game puts an emphasis on freedom. If you think it's fun, and want to do it, the developers don't want to stop you. Same with the co-op, if you want to cheat and let a friend with a level 100 character play through the entire game with you, why not?

It's stupid restrictions like that in a vain attempt to balance the game that ruined Oblivion and destroyed any sense of freedom.

Personally, I'd rather start Fable 2 in the gutter, and have to work my way out, but even if I get these games, I can still do that, I don't HAVE to transfer over my funds. But I'm sure by my second or third play through, I might want to just rush through the whole having to work to feed my family stage, and just start the game as a billionaire.

Yeah but even that, how fun is that gonna be? I dont want to start the game with 1000 gold coins, i want to start from scratch and build my way up, like in Fable 1..
I guess its fun for people that like using cheats though..
