Fifa World Cup demo video

Fifa World Cup demo video

As planned, the demo of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa was released on Xbox Live and PSN today. Spain and Italy are the two playable teams and the demo will let you play a complete 4 minute match. Also expect about as much confetti as in a Captain Tsubasa episode and a festive song conveying all the joy and brotherhood that go with such an international event. Very colorful, with even better graphics than Fifa 10, this new game in the franchise looks promising enough to be worth a look if you want to get fully involved in the world cup phenomenon. The 60 fps video was captured in professional mode.

graphics are a huge improvement

gameplay wise it seemed tighter and the movement felt better, cant explain it

in the end i dont mind paying £25-30 for it by trading in FIFA10. i LOVE the atmosphere

Shot a few goals with Torres. It was easy to pick up, but like with every Football game I'll pass. :)

i think it's crazy that the RRP on this is £49.99.. would of been nice if they had done what capcom are doing with SSF4, and knocked the rrp off by £20.. given you're getting only the national team list of fifa 10?

Not a bad demo - but I don't believe it to be more than a rental due to the time relevant content. Certainly not worth full whack when you've got the likes of RDR and Conviction out fairly soon.

But as a demo to tech/features for FIFA 11, it's a good start (the pressing and ball physics seem to feel a little better)

I know exactly what you mean mate; I can't explain it either. But it's most certainly better. Much better.

Very tempted to pick this up now, but there are so many awesome games coming out soon so I doubt I will. But nevertheless, great effort from EA - and I'm now extra excited for FIFA 11.

They should incorporate motion sensor in there somehow. Like shake the remote and your player will dive :D Or hold X and stab remote for an elbow to the face. Time it right and referee won't see it.

Jokes aside, a bit more than 2 months till WC :D

The game doesn't have the same replay value as regular FIFA for me :( Great if you don't care about playing as clubs. The ball seems to travel more realistic. Very easy to hit the post now though...

About the game

What's up?
  • MrWhite
MrWhite The game doesn't have to rely on cheap jump scares normally associated with traditional game design in VR. The immersion just does it automatically. It's something a normal TV can't compete with. (5 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite the game should come with a warning and a disclaimer should you decide to play it in VR. As soon as you're there, it's extremely uncomfortable, even if nothing is happening. (7 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @alimokrane: Trust me on this, if immersion and horror is the aim here, and it is, then first person and VR makes perfect sense. I'm not joking when I say this... (8 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @alimokrane: The demo is tame compared to what I seen in the first 45 minutes. The atmosphere got ramped up big time, and don't be thinking you're safe behind closed doors or walls. (9 minutes ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane @MrWhite: I know people prefer VR or first person view but if they were to patch 3rd person view, my life would be complete. (9 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Light and shadows, as well as sound, play a massive role in the design of the game. I'm confident it'll be a return to form. (11 minutes ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane @MrWhite: True. I still havent got over how scare the RE7 demo was... crickey! (12 minutes ago)
