And to think Final Fantasy used to be one of the most respected series around.
Then we got a groud of metrosexual Jpop NSync garbage design that is just bad.
And VO sucks.
Only good things i can say is, good music, awesome visual effects and stylish animations during combat.
After the Ramuh summon I will buy the game just to see the rest of them. It's already off to a better start than XIII.
And if you can kill him or remove him from the team, that'll be good
I started with japanese VO at the start since I saw the previous trailers and abysmal English voices.
Also, it's quite difficult at some points. Especially when fighting waves of enemies. The combat is definitely NOT a button masher. You will die quickly. Parrying and dodging are actually difficult (because if you just keep holding dodge button you will run out of MP).
Apart from the bugs, framerate drops and aliasing that you expect in a demo, it runs quite while. The graphics don't seem as great as what we saw in official videos. I mean, they definitely look amazing. But the shadows and lighting don't seem as beautiful as the official videos. Probably because they weren't run on a native PS4. Hopefully, the final version will be as good as the official videos.
I've just got up to the first fight with the behemoth and about to go to the chocobo farm. Loving the fact that the FF Victory Fanfare theme IS IN THE GAME! (It happens after camping)
FF13 had its own victory fanfare which sucked. Also, the combat's difficult will require you to use potions quite a bit sometimes. I used Potion several times when fighting a behemoth. Still not sure how Phoenix Down works since it's Game Over when Noct dies.
The only things that does bug me about this game however are the character design choices, dubbing and scripting.
Conversations are really simple and the characters just don't seem to fit their situations......there's just too much swagger getting in the way, softening up the mood it's supposed to have.
The faces are great and their hair is good too. I would have liked though to see these characters in more sensible gear, a little bit more rougher and serious.
Their hair is definitely too perfect for having slept all night in their clothes, -with each other.
Also, god does this need better AA, hopefully a temporal AA variant, particularly with all the hair and alpha affects Final fantasy loves to use that are going on. A very lovely looking game, that's marred by a lot of flickering and distracting aliasing. Definitely deserves better, but this game admittedly is a long way out from release, likely. Still.
Also, I know it's very Japanese, but the design of the UI is aesthetically rather terrible, if at least functional.
Ramuh was just insane.

Lighten up, FF never had Duke Nukem/Rambo main characters, FF15 is great as it is... only needs some graphical/performance issues fixed.
I also have to say the outfits after ffx were very awkward and lacked sense. The outfits in ffvii were good, the outfits in ffviii were also good and also changed depending on story. FF IX were great too.
