KOEI just released the first images of Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires (previously named "Special"), which is planned for a summer release. This is the part where we really can compare the graphics of Ninety-Nine Nights and the Dynasty Warriors series, right?

Um... I think I go for N3 then.
Ninety Nine Nights looks a lot more impressive than this, although this game probably hasn't been in development as long as N3 yet (I hope ).

What a disgrace...they should've ended the DW series with the 3rd IMO, especially if they're not going to make any significant updates to the gameplay and graphics.

Graphics aren't everything you know? Anyway like Twoism said, the Dynasty Warrior saga didn't get a huge gameplay upgrade in the passing years. And I don't think Dynasty Warrior 5 can change that.

this game will also be released for ps2.. dont u think that these pics are from the ps2 version?

because gamefront wrote about a sommer 2006 release for europe for ps2 and 360 and also presented some of the screens

I am so sick of these straight ports! I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would pay $10 more for these games so why do they keep being released, at full price no less?

Very disappointing especially if N3 turns out to not have a co-op mode.

How can they look at Ninety-Nine Nights and put this out. It’s bad enough that some developers was porting XBOX games over to the 360 but a PS2 to 360 port is a shame. They didn’t even try.

I'll take N3 over DW any day. Not just the graphics, but the gameplay of DW# is just SO button mashing. That and, I'd rather have fantasy I can believe in than history I couldn't care less about.

I'm going to disagree and say I think these look pretty good. However, it isn't just about being pretty. I've never played a game like this before but the reason N3 interests me so much is the involvement of Mizuguchi's Q entertainment, and the belief that they will put together a fantastic, complete package that is as much fun to play as their other games.
