First images of Dynast Warriors 5

KOEI just released the first images of Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires (previously named "Special"), which is planned for a summer release. This is the part where we really can compare the graphics of Ninety-Nine Nights and the Dynasty Warriors series, right?

N3 (the combo god) for me!

Have they even improved the draw distance? It looks just as foggy as the current gen games.

Another port. N3 all the way, but when is MS releasing it here in the US.

hahaha :)

Um... I think I go for N3 then.
Ninety Nine Nights looks a lot more impressive than this, although this game probably hasn't been in development as long as N3 yet (I hope ;-) ).

Not really impressive, but could still be fun.

What a disgrace...they should've ended the DW series with the 3rd IMO, especially if they're not going to make any significant updates to the gameplay and graphics.

Ninety-Nine Nights for me, unless they can polish up them graphics...

Graphics aren't everything you know? Anyway like Twoism said, the Dynasty Warrior saga didn't get a huge gameplay upgrade in the passing years. And I don't think Dynasty Warrior 5 can change that.

this game will also be released for ps2.. dont u think that these pics are from the ps2 version?

because gamefront wrote about a sommer 2006 release for europe for ps2 and 360 and also presented some of the screens

this doesn't look next gen to me

I am so sick of these straight ports! I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would pay $10 more for these games so why do they keep being released, at full price no less?

Very disappointing especially if N3 turns out to not have a co-op mode.

How can they look at Ninety-Nine Nights and put this out. It’s bad enough that some developers was porting XBOX games over to the 360 but a PS2 to 360 port is a shame. They didn’t even try.

Yeah this is pitiful to say the least, no release is better than this tripe.

I'll take N3 over DW any day. Not just the graphics, but the gameplay of DW# is just SO button mashing. That and, I'd rather have fantasy I can believe in than history I couldn't care less about.

Hopefully nobody will buy this. That'll learn em.

Definetly a port with the only nuance being higher resolution. Blah.

Is this a joke? I'm being serious here.

I'm going to disagree and say I think these look pretty good. However, it isn't just about being pretty. I've never played a game like this before but the reason N3 interests me so much is the involvement of Mizuguchi's Q entertainment, and the belief that they will put together a fantastic, complete package that is as much fun to play as their other games.

About the game

What's up?
  • Tinks
Tinks I didn't understand why he played so poorly either though. Subasic has been amazing the rest of the tourney. A big reason they won against Denmark and Russia (13 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks @MrWhite: I agree. Penalty like that shouldn't happen in a WC final. Croatia's keeper was screened for almost all of those goals, aside from the deflection (13 Hours ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus @Melmoth: oh god, that is amazing. the sounds and visuals are insane for a sim. (13 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @droezelke: For both them? Mbapp was 20 odd yards out. His positioning was shite. Should never have let that one past him. (13 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke If FIFA didn't object so long to get a VAR, the concept could have been bug-fixed 10 years ago. (15 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @Tinks: The VAR is an exvellent tool, but the rules applied to the VAR are restricting them from intervening. Also, the hands-rule is so ill defined that it's completely open to interpretation. (15 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke Then the shot came and as he tried to correct to the right, he was leaning on the wrong leg and went out of balance. (15 Hours ago)
