First Killzone 2 image

First Killzone 2 image

"Yup guys, it's real. It [went out] a little bit early, but it's 100% ingame". The words are from Seb Downie, QA Manager at Guerilla, and it gives us the confirmation that the Killzone 2 screenshot flooding the web since a few hours is legit. Because I am a very polite person, I will only advise you to forget everything you saw of the game at last year's E3 before opening this news. This is becoming embarrassing.

Wow... That really doesn't look very good at all. I will wait for more pics to come out before totally judging the graphics but on that one screenshot E3 will be quite embarassing if this is sony's big hitter. Although not out until late this year? So they have time still suppose to fix them up

Ok im gonna go with shambles. The legendary killzone looks like call of duty 2. Also I have noticed a trend with ps3 and texture quality. Is this some sort of memory limitation or read speed issue or what because they really need to get it sorted. Overall killzone 1 was a bad game, killzone for psp bored me to death, so i wasnt gonna buy this anyway, but this is no halo killer.

HMMMMMmmmm.....i think sony will get slamed over this...
i know its just one screen shot, but if thats the shape of things to come...
Oh Boy sony???

I really hope they're doing this on purpose or the press and balanced fans will destroy them for this.

It's hard to believe there are still some hardcode PS fans (in other sites) defending this screenie.

what is wrong with you people???

I think its a little better then Lost Planet but remember the game still has alot of polishing left.

Its a bad screen, you cant defend it.. this is not what you release as a teaser to your fans NO Sony NO!

But i do believe that the video footage will still be very good and will put this Bad screenshot to shame :)

Meh. Nasty in many ways.

I don't think it even matters what it is doing technically if the image quality is as horrible as that from a first-person view.

How can you say that? You can barely see nothing in this screen shot. We need to wait for more stuff before make any judgement.

I was at least hoping for par with gears of war. Guess not, they set the bar too high at e3'05 with that CGI vid of Killzone 2

Yeah but lost planet sort of hid the lack of bump mapping and stuff with good snow. And the models where much better than this. Fair enough this is an early image or whatever. But what have they been spending all this time doing? This isnt competing with lost planet anyway, its halo, gears and bioshock. And it doesnt look a patch on halo nevermind bioshock or gears.

The developers say it's pre-pre-alpha, guess we'll wait and see. I want to see a video myself.

I meant Lost Planet in the LoD of the actual player models but the gun model looks pretty good so.

we'll see for sure when they show the game in motion at e3. personally i always knew there was no way it could be possible. i'm sure this will come out being a great looking game, but no where near the trailer.

so you show a dark crap pre pre alpha image as a teaser? those PR guys dont have a clue.

have to say... for a game that is in the making since 2005 or before.... it looks like cr@p... it may look better in motion, but it's still far off from what I throught it would look...

screens always look worse then ingame itself, I thought by now you guys would know that. Just wait for the presentation before judging it.
Commented on 2007-07-10 15:23:02
Hopefully the video tells a different story and i didnt see any point in releasing or letting something this bad leak out considering all the stuff that went down when this was first shown at E3. We'll see tho.

When you release a screen for a game that has been in the kept in the dark for 2yrs, then start the hype-train pre E3 stating that it is going to blow us away, this is not the screen you release as a teaser. I'm looking forward to this game and the videos to come but that screen has dampened my excitement :(

Yep, only a few hours to wait 'til the Killzone 2 presentation. We should know soon enough if this screen was worth worrying.

Isn't it a private presentation and i'm guessing is covered by NPD?

Will Gamersyde have a rep there? I like the "no bullshit" approach.
