That JRT on the grill in pic one looks nothing whatsoever like the GTR badge, whatsoever, in any way. Honest :)

Looks pretty though. If this is real-time, colour me impressed.

Splicer, you're confusing it with Full Auto.

Flat out was good fun, but boring rather fast. hopefully they try not to make it to much like burnout ..

I loved the first flat-out game. Amout off stuff flying realisticly around is just incredible. Not to mention great damage model on cars and ragdoll driver flying trough the windshield if you crash too hard :D
Only flaw was it was damn short game. If they get really long career mode and proper live multiplayer modes on this, its going to be gold. Looks friggin sweet allso.
Going to be good summer for racing game fans. Forza2 for thirst of realism and Flatout: UC when you feel like going all nuts and having fun :)

2nd pic looks too photoshopped, I mean, the blurred object look pasted on. And the fire near the hood of the closest car is also p/s'ed on :(. Without those fake effects this can easily be in-game. But we'll see ^^

Note that the beautiful blur seen on those objects I mentioned are also possible in-game, it's already used in a lot of games.. best example would be in Just Cause.. but in that game, they used a little too much blur :P

Yep 2nd shot is photochopped. Bugbear have amazing engine talent but I just hope they arent making this just to earn some quick bucks by recycling their old games (which they essentially are).

The 360 needs a "rally" game and the countryside maps offer some of that (though their PC game Rally Trophy offered it more truely).

As long as it runs great, looks great and plays like Flatout it's ok in my book. But god forbid it slows down and makes the 360 look bad 1.5 years after its been out then IMEKÄÄ PÖKÄLETTÄ. (a special hello to my countrymen at bugbear).

Burnout Revenge 360 comes to mind in the useless port-jobs department. Dont let this be one of those.

BlimBlim: Don't want to be pedantic but it should be "named", not "names" in the sentence:
Flatout 2 for Xbox 360 will finally be names FlatOut Ultimate Carnage.

Flatout was such an amazing game, very underappreciated. Now on the 360 with mindblowing visuals! Keep me occupied until Burnout 5.

In flatout you drive mostly on dirt tracks that are set up on regular roads and there's alot of scenery that you can smash, drive through and jump over. There's no oncoming traffic or other traffic than the players. Plus where Burnout has the crash junction mode, Flatout has ragdoll / car stunts modes that are really amusing.

I'd say Full Auto was closer to Flatout in the handling of the cars and the way you can destroy everything, but Flatout has no weapons thankfully.

I'd say those pics are ingame because Flatout 2 looks on my computer alot like that, just a bit more AA but I think they haven't PS'd them in anyway, and the blurr effect that is on the boards and stuff is I think called the new gen graphics where there's depth of fields, blurring and stuff and in some cases far too much for my liking.

Same here. Flat Out Ultimate Carnage needs to have improved graphics before release.

Flatout = Finnish forest tracks
Burnout = City tracks

Some details:
- 12 cars on race (previously 8)
- 8000 Dynamic objects per. track (stuff you can smash and crash on realisticly. previously 5000 objects)
- Real-time light and shadow effeffects depending on time of day.
- 20000 polygon damage model per car. (previoulsy 7500)
- 5 all new singleplayer game modes and 2 new live multiplayer modes.

Sounds "true next-gen" sequel to me :)

I got this last march when it came out for Xbox, but I played it shamefully little because of all the other stuff coming out at the time. The first one was GREAT, and I can say I played enough of 2 to notice that it was awesome too.

When this comes out I'll give it its deserved due attention.

    Melmoth waiting and staring, sounds realistic to me. I did a lot of that in the close-combat troop in the costal artillery :D (3 Hours ago)
