Xbox 360 PS3

Activision just sent us this first trailer of Tony Hawk Proving Ground, and this new episode seems a tad more interesting than what we got before. I guess the upcoming SKATE got Neversoft out of their sleep.

I'm sure it'll be identical.

This series has blown since THPS2.

SKATE will own this unless Neversoft changes the gameplay. They can tweak the graphics and add all the modes they want, but if the gameplay is the same, then it's not worth it. SKATE is the first true skateboarding game. But Ill wait before I make any final judgments

Wow, skate is really going to beat TH. Activision didn't learn anything from their "competitor". The graphics look bad, the animations aren't that good and the gameplay really sucks....
That's just so ridiculous...

Wow, your only more or less intelligent argument against "skate." is that you hate EA. Thanks for this important and highly spiritual comment.... -.-

looks good, tbh, in terms of actual fun, TH will always be king. SKATE looks about as fun as falling on a rail and crushing your nuts. and if its as realistic as your all making it out to be, then you'll be doing that a whole lot in the game.

When you compare "skate." with falling on a rail and crushing your nuts, what is TH then?
Getting a fart from Bam Margera in your face after you succeeded in doing a switch quadruple Frontflip to 100.000 miles nosebluntslide on a wire above the city......wow this sounds like fun........

I don't like TH games personally, but you have to admit that this sells to a different gamer than SKATE

TH's gameplay won't change because noone wants to compete head to head in the realm of realism by choice, so it's going to stay the same

One could easily say, such as myself, that TH hasn't been fun for years because they haven't changed anything. So I don't know about KING really.
SKATE will probably be a lot more fun just because it is actually something different for once.

Well skate is not that cool anyways cuz Ea gonna "milk you" out for buying extra content like moves or parks ect, I'm not hating Ea cuz ea starting to become greedier every yr.

Plus this one will be better it has it all Activision is not as greedy like Ea cuz Ea is not in game!.

SKATE is a true skating game. The new stick-trick they are implementing is a GREAT idea. It adds realism and challenge to the game. It makes simple tricks like landing a 360 flip off a set of 10 stairs fun again. Not just tapping X and kickflipping off a building on to a telephone wire. SKATE will make you earn your tricks and actually make you feel rewarded and good about landing certain tricks, unlike TH. TH games are played out, they need to change their gameplay mechanics.

well actually it does. The problem that you are really highlighting is the fact that this just gets repetitive. This is correct, however if it was always totally realistic then people would get bored of that too. Theres only so many different ways you can make a skateboard game, if your bored then play a different genre.

THPS2 will always be the best for me (had dreamcast version). It had like infinite replay value imo coz the levels were just so well constructed. When THPS3 came out and the levels started to get really big, I just kinda lost interest.
