Forza 3 intro video

Microsoft finally seems to be willing to show Forza Motorsport 3 since here comes the game's intro, done with ingame replay footage.
Update: Microsoft also announced that the game has gone Gold, and that a demo will be available on September 24.

Funny that the first (fantasy) track they showed is probably the (much) better loking one of them all. I hope the undisclosed ones are as good loking as that one, don't care if they are real or not.

awesome trailer, ending a bit different than the one uploaded on youtube. Still great though, diesel in the r10 actually sounds somewhat like it. Can't wait for the demo either.

You can see at the start of the intro, that the engine is silver/grey aluminium. Then as the strong sunlight hits it, it's absorbed into a white glow, briefly, thanks to HDR, before becoming silvery grey again. Kinda like real life really.

That said I think in other screenshots you see that the engine is also not white in FM3. I guess it’s just an overdone reflection.

Ok, just the shots I had looked up it looked more white than that, then again, they looked to be promo shots, and didnt have a closeup of the engine bay.

Absolutely fantastic looking game. It may have a different graphical style to GT, but it certainly does not mean it's below it. Certainly, the detail is second to none IMO.

Now this is a good intro. Good showcase of the diversity in cars, tracks and game modes. Im absolutely psyched about Forza 3. Seems like it was announced yesterday. Sure we heard the rumors, but we didn't actually get to see anything on Forza until E3, and that was only a few months ago.

A little correction, it turns out this is not replay footage, it's basically gameplay footage. According to Che:

FUN FACT: The entire intro video with the Challenger taking off at the end was captured in-game and not during replay. Basically, we detached the camera from the back of the car in 3rd person view and scripted it to do flybys and choreographed moves. These are essentially in-game graphics with no added AA, etc. We had considered doing a CG rendered intro video but felt confident that the game looked good enough to just do it all in-game in real-time.

so ive been watching that show gt racer on discovery hd and cars like the jaguar e-type are so much more bad ass irl. like they seem so weak in the game compared to the real thing
