Forza 7 final PC build videos

Forza 7 final PC build videos

You might wonder why we have no review of Forza Motorsport 7 ready for the end of the embargo, but the reason is pretty simple to explain. Microsoft France was only given the review copies yesterday and we received ours at around 5:30 pm. Given the time needed to download the 95 GB, we had to make a choice so we picked the PC version, therefore delaying our Xbox One coverage. Needless to say we didn't have much time to practice, especially considering that 4K videos take much longer to encode. Still, we have a bunch of things to share with you, just in time. It's not perfect, even in terms of performance, as our rig strangely seems to struggle with the game whatever the resolution we choose. We'll try to understand why there is so much random stuttering like in the demo, but until we figure that out (or the devs), enjoy our footage!
Note: We plan on releasing Xbox One S HDR videos before the week-end and we might even livestream the game tonight.

Rig used for capture

"It's not perfect, even in terms of performance, as our rig strangely seems to struggle with the game whatever the resolution we choose."

If this is the case, in the final version of Forza Motorsport 7 for Windows 10, then it's very clear that Turn 10 failed to put the optimizations from Forza Horizon 3, in regards to the CPU.

Sounds like once again, the "100% CPU Usage thread(s) problem," from pre-patch Forza Horizon 3 has decided to reappear in Forza Motorsport 7 final version, which is very disappointing.

No, I don't believe that's the real problem. We'll see what happens. The videos show part of the problem, though it can be a lot worse than what you see here.

The Xbox teams putting out a shotty PC port? Shocking stuff. They'll figure it out eventually, but its a bummer.

It works well for some people, which makes it even harder to fix I guess.

A CPU issue maybe, or RAM speed, I did not have random stutter in the demo despite having two cores at 100%, so the "100% core" is not the issue, they even said it was normal.

Miguel, Blim or Driftwood....does your GTX1080 hold a steady 60fps on replays?
Thanks for your great work, as per usual

My 1080 Ti does in 1440p, 4x MSAA, 200% resolution, maybe it can drop a bit during wet weather when there is too much water splash.

But ingame I can get 90-140+ FPS if I chose to unlock the framerate, without any stutter at all.

Sometimes it can, but I would say that most of the time it can't (in 4K). In 1440p it depends I would say, but even our Nurburgring replay video shows a few drops.

Miguel...if you're using a GTX1080 TI, of course that GPU will obliterate almost anything you throw at it lol

Forgot to add in my previous post that I talking about playing in 4k - Just wanted to see how a regular GTX 1080 would hold up in replays....I know in-game, a GTX1080 at 4x MSAA seemingly runs the game fine in 4k.

Thanks again for all your input guys, much appreciated

Some people with a Ti are also having problems.

toelessfoot @GriftGFX: Funny how they took so much crap for making the move (1 Day ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Nvidia made the right bet on RTX.. the rest of the industry will follow, adding a lot of support... and they'll probably stay in front of the tech (1 Day ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Sdarts: the thing about that pastebin "leak" is it doesn't mention SSD at all. and the PSVR2 pricing for that sort of HMD just seems too good to be true. (1 Day ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog so i wouldn't be surprised if there was a 150-250 gig SSD that effectively has an M.2-like set up just for the game you're currently playing. the rest are stored on a large HDD (1 Day ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog both sony and MS already have SKU's with 2TB HDD's. they're clearly aware of the need for capacity. i just don't see PS5 coming with 2TB SSD's as standard, it would inflate the costs way too much. (1 Day ago)

KORNdog @Sdarts: you literally repeated what i suggested it could be. lol. (1 Day ago)
