Why does everything look like it was dipped in Vasaline? So shiny!
Because the devteam sucks ? :p
Could be, my english was very bad back when I was playing this game ;)
the game itself is looking leaps and bounds better than before, but at the end of the day, it will be remembered as a launch title, not much more.
Damn The cgi Sould be gameplay grahpics, it looks like a pimped out xbox game
And what's up with that music, I swear it's in every trailer I've seen so far. The action looked good, but I want to see actual in-gmae stuff and not pre rendered or CG cutscenes.
KKHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!
I wonder if Unreal Engine 3 has a weakness in that respect? None of the other UE3 games have prominent hair as it's covered by helmets or bandanas or they have shaved heads!
It's clearly easier if you're going for an anime style like DoA or a stylished look like PDZ because then you don't have to worry about texture so much. What really makes that blonde girl in this game's hair look awful is the disguisting texture/normal mapping on it and the fact that it's just a chunk of ickyness. It could certainly be engine related though of course, since most in-game animation stuff is modelled in games using UE, UE2 and UE3.
That's really my worry in this whole licensing craze of the UE3. Console games start looking as generic and static as PC games. :(
I've seen better hair done in UE2 games, that flows and such.
As well, these developers just don't know how to use Specular maps in an convincing fashion.
