Gamersyde Diaries: Second! This month the menu is rather varied and each of the major platforms gets some coverage, Motorstorm and Resistance for the PS3, a big focus on Red Steel for the Wii, Call of Duty 3 and Gears of War for the 360, and the icing on the cake we'll put the spotlight on Nervous Brickdown, a lovely DS game developed by a small studio in Paris and that we really wanted to show to the world. Also worth mentioning, the video is now available in WMV format, using the classic WMV9 codec so it should work nicely with Flip4Mac, and a 720p version is on its way. As always we are looking forward to your comments!
Update: 720p WMV version added ! Only available on Bittorent.
A few side notes: We mention that Motorstorm is a launch title. It's of course a "launch window" title, with the japanese version being available in a few weeks in Japan already.
Also important, you'll notice that the framerate in the Gears of War part doesn't look too good. This isn't because of the game, but because on the fps conversion from 30 to 25. As soon as we have some money, we'll buy a NTSC HD camera and this won't be a problem anymore. Let me state this again, Gears of War is a totally smooth game ;)
I think it was apparent to people.. even before the system launched.. that the early launch of the Dreamcast was risky. So I can see how EA might want to play hardball to sweeten the deal on said risk (2 Hours ago)
They also sold 2K and exited the console business... so maybe it wasn't all the best course of action after all :D (2 Hours ago)
That's what I meant lol. NFL, not NHL. (2 Hours ago)
it's pretty shitty to deny a system because of Visual Concepts though. They hadn't even produced anything yet and EA was a giant even then (2 Hours ago)
EA's license is supposed to be up this year I think. I wish 2K could make an NFL game again. (2 Hours ago)
NFL2K was also the franchise that made it painfully obvious how little Madden was changing year to year. EA had to buy the NFL, and 2K bought the MLB in response I believe. (2 Hours ago)
Even though EA had their games on the Saturn and that flopped hard, the Saturn ran headlong into the famous "$299" mic drop moment. (2 Hours ago)
