Xbox 360 PS3

I'm sure most of you have had to deal with rather slow downloads when the site gets a bit busier than usual. Now that Gamersyde is almost ready to launch (2-3 weeks) we are looking for hosting partners for our videos. Based on the same system as the current openxbox/ps3 mirror, a hosting partner sets up his own page with its own advertising banners (as long as they are legal). If you can provide an unmetered 100 mbits or more link with some basic server options, please contact us at hosting(at)gamersyde.com. We may also be interested in that type of hosting at a good price.

This site (or some of it's mirrors) actually is one of the few websites where I get almost my max speed when downloading.. Which is a lot since I have 24Mbit/s..

Actually I find downloads at Xboxyde to be extraordinary fast. With a 16MBit DSL2 line I usually download at 500-600 kb/s. That´s much better than what I get at some of the so-called "professional" sites that give you 20kb/s downloads and are literally forcing their subscription models on their users.

With hosting I can´t help, but if one day you also want to add a German section, I would actually be interested to contribute.

Well the main issue is that most of the time the downloads are plenty fast enough, but when a file is very popular, every slows down to a crawl.

That's absolutely true! I remember the first video of the Halo 3 beta was barely streaming and the download was at like 30kb/s. I hope you guys find the hosting boosts you're looking for!

i dont come here for the download speeds..more for the community aspect...which im sure is y most others do...of course the fact that u have news very very up to dat is simply a bonus

Yeah when we use openxbox360 it's very fast. Xboxyde=Great Videos+Fast download from Openxbox360

BTW Blim, will Gamersyde do the same thing that you did on Xboxyde/Playsyde? No preview or review?

Ya know, that's what torrents are ideal for. If a file is really popular, use torrents only. The download speeds will slowly increase by time. If you allow quite a nice upload speed from the "seed server" to the first couple of downloaders, then they make a nice base for the following leechers. But of course, torrents have their downsides.

Well as long as you guys aren't breaking the bank to provide great speeds to us then that's fine. Cause more than often the speed is very fast, and you always offer torrents anyways and those obviously take the load off you guys and really help in times of high traffic.
