By the way, in these 4 videos, all the driving aids are off.
I'm still not convinced about how 'sim' it will be, it looks a lot like GRID here. (which isn't bad as F3 en GT5 should be enough this year)
But it's nice to have some reflections of the dashboard on the windscreen :)
And thx for all the Gamescom footage!
Nope, the demo was apparently an old build with the same tracks we've seen in the mountain environment. So take a look at the videos we made a few weeks ago.

@Qronicle- PGR had reflections on the inside of the windshield as well. Not sure about Forza3 and GT5 yet though.
So from what you guys have played, does it play much like Forza or GT with the aids all turned off? Would you say the game feels most like Grid, Project Gotham, or Forza/GT?
The one thing I'll say about this game is that I think it has, from what I keep seeing, some of the best race locations I've seen in any racing game so far this gen.
Forza and GT might have far superior gameplay, but if the gameplay for this is at least consistent enough to be fun, I think the presentation and great track variety will still make this a really fun game.
However, I thought the earlier gameplay videos have made the physics look pretty damn sloppy, so I have things turn out for the best.
If that's what they call "no assists" physics, then I am pretty damn let down by this game. I really thought having the guys from SimBin would make a difference but it looks like EA told them to dumb it down once again.
I mean damn, that first vid just looked like crap in a lot of the turns. I really hope I'm just looking at it wrong.
It is very arcady, but to me it looks fun arcady.

btw, thank you again.. these nfs videos looks awesome.
maintaining a steady framerate remains this games biggest challenge given its decision to stick to 30fps, Sega Rally(locked 30fps) is the benchmark they should aim for for smoothness.
I guess this is played with a controller instead of a steering wheel right? – At least that would explain over steering and stuff.
The cockpit view is really immersive but the tunnel vision is a bit overdone since it seems to kick in at about 180 km/h. That’s a bit early tbh, IMO it would be more “realistic” somewhere around 260 km/h.
The AI seems a bit pitiful but on what setting is this played on? – There should be three AI difficulty settings and the highest one is supposed to be really hard, at least they promised that for the release version in an interview.
I guess, or rather hope, that this is still an arcade setting despite “all driving aids off”. Remember GT5P got two physics independent on driving aids as well: Normal and Professional. They said something similar for this game in an interview and they promised a damage model. I don’t see any damage in these videos.
Very sad that apparently no one knows on what setting they just played this game since no one talks about it. I mean a video is nice but I don’t really know what I’m looking at since this game was supposed to range from arcade to simulation.
I guess for PGR fans this is already a win but even so I really enjoyed PGR2 nowadays I’m looking for a bit more realism.
Well another reason to not preorder it. After its release videos will appear where people know how they just played the game and people will post their impression on a final product.
hard to get back into nfs after they screwed up every single game the past few years....
Nice ones. Here is another one, played & commented by Jesse Abney (NFS:S Producer) ... http://pressakey.com/videodetail,1513,174,Need-for...
I’m not impressed by the damage thou. First of all it was only visually and last but not least it took him some sever crashes to only take of his hood. Both still indicates some arcade settings.
And that’s what I mean he is talking about a serious simulation level and stuff but is not really showing it off.
But that HUD off mode is awesome. I see just one problem: If they start blurring the cockpit from 160 to 180 km/h upwards how the fuck are you supposed to read your dials without HUD when racing fast…
Anyway I keep an eye on it, that way more than the last NSFs achieved.
