There are a good number of basketball fans I think, but we're 2K fanboys :p
I'll give the new live credit for one thing though, they seem to have nailed the feel of an actual fast break, and momentum off the ball better than 2K seems to have it, but aside from that, I'd say 2K still safely has the crown.
This 2k Vs Live dispute is silly, both are pretty sucky in terms of actually basketball gameplay. I am not interested in managing a team or having the latest rosters, or even a 3d crowd.
OK, as an avid 2K basketball player I have to disagree with how good phillymantis makes it out to be. 2K has tons of flaws and often makes me wanna through my controller through the fucking floor when Ray Allen makes two hundred fucking 3s in a row for some miracle comeback. The "swing factor" in that game is total BS but it's just a game so not much we can do.
But I think 2K is quite overrated, but it's still a lot better than the arcade mess that Live used to be. Maybe this will end that streak but I doubt that.
I think basketball games are some of the worst in terms of making you feel like you are really playing. I think Football and baseball (at least pitching and hitting) feel a lot more like you are effecting the game. Basketball uses too much stats and not enough of your own mechanics.
