Here comes what should be our definitive Gran Turismo 5 GamesCom video in terms of quality. This replay (so 30 fps) has gone through our lengthy process of HQ encoding and should be the closest to direct feed quality we'll release until we actually get the game. Enjoy!

Quite right, especially in the 2nd half of the video, the camera work is fantastic. still I would have loved this video even more if Damage is also captured by you blimblim. The beauty of this game is beyond words, from trees to buildings to road to shadows to chrome, everything is burning hot!

delusional ?? maybe u are the one cuz almost everyone is selling his x360 for slim. If forza 3 looks bad then go rant to MS to change that. u can clearly see the PLASTIC RED CAR at the beginning and the plastic Gtr susequently

Only GT5 looks good and is awesome. FM3 is plastic. GT5 will outsell FM3 based on just 1st day sales in europe

Sheikh, actually Forza isn't bad man, its quite nice that they do try to compete. I was angry when the forza dev tried to bash GT series, no way man, just no way anything can come into competition with GT! but apart from that, shhake that fanboyist attitude.

I love GT, and I love FM.. They are different and both look epic in their own way..

Now I shall give my opinion and one that is educated at that and not blinded by the fact that I lumped down over 300 quid waiting on one particular game for the system and being blinded by the hype and wait of over 4 years.

The game looks very clean; sterile. Almost too clean. But I know this is one particular track in GT that has always been the same. Car models are good, but I'll draw the dreaded comparison to that other apparantly awful game that should be canned by MS in that the car models in that game are easily on par, if not even more detailed in certain aspects as in interior. Hard to say, but GT certainly doesn't have anything over it in this regard.

A gripe about this video - and do spare me all ye faithful fanboys of your wrath - but the shadowing when passing over the cars is awful. It's got some really nasty type artifecting going on there when the shadow map streams over the car at speed. A minor thing, but it sort take you out of that photo-realism illusion, doesn't it? Fact is, this game isn't anywhere near what people were hoping it was going to be visually. Both GT5 and FM3 will have their downfalls visually, but neither is looking vastly superior to the other. The things that are impressing me about FM3 are not evident in any of the gameplay footage I've seen of GT5 thus far.

Damage seems very limited.. In the end the car is t-boned very hard but shows no damage at all in the side.. I'm not impressed..

Well, unless you suck as driving sim games, there's no real need for perfect damage. GT5 and Forza's all about skilled driving, not destruction derby carnage type racing. There's plenty other games like that out there
