PS3

Sony and Polyphony Digital release no less than twenty-four images of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, taking place in a reparation stand. The graphics are incredible, as always.

If this game holds up in motion, as I'm guessing it will, I think we'll finally have evidence, of what is capable of the Cell and PS3, and how it will slowly, slowly start pulling away from the Xbox 360 in the graphics department... 'bout time... Sony called the 360 the Xbox 1.5, and it has been outdoing the PS3 so far. Sony looks like they are going to keep MS on their toes in 2008. Phenomenal stuff. Oh is there any 4D going on here in these screens? :)

i think it looks awesome but i hope they put in some nice ai (ai of gt to gt4 was like crap) and shorten the "campaign" cause it was quit boring to me. never finished the campaign played only half of it.

I agree that the campaign got a little boring after a while,
although I think they should try to make the campaign more intersting
rather than just making it shorter.
Nevertheless, owning a few friends in GT has always been fun. :P
Edit: I hope the world textures have as high quality as the cars.
In the end, it ain't the cars I'm looking at most of the time during a race.

All these pictures are from the rendered intro. The ingame stuff doesn't look that good, though it still looks impressive.

Looking great as always, however the poor character models do make my eyes sore. Come on, they look like something from 1999.

Tellatus, I'm pretty sure you will be dissapointed. The car models have always been the stars of GT, so they get super special attention. And therefore the environments won't meed the high standard of the cars. Sadly.

I'm also hoping that the AI get a significent bump forward in GT5. That was a major issue for me in GT4 and GT3. I'm glad to see that Forza2 has set a new standard for AI (at least in concole racers). Now it's up to GT5 to raise the bar even further.

Another issue I've had is with the number of cars on track at the same time. I'm so glad to see this has been raised from the usual 6 cars (or 8 in forza2).

Car physics and car collisions I also hope is given a major overhaul. The physics in GT4 and GTHD is laughable compared to Forza2 so I suspect we will see something drastically better in GT5 and GT5:prologue.

And lastly - the engine sounds and sounds in general. Forza made progress. Now GT5 must do the same. The sounds in GT games have always been piss poor, but now there is no excuse. I'm worried though as GT:HD has the same sounds as GT4 and they are just awful.

The graphics are there. The game looks splendid, now we just need the above fixes and GT5 will the most amazing racer ever. I'm looking forward to see how it fares.

Anyone know how many PS3s can be linked in system link, btw? I'm already seeing the next GT5 tournament being planned by me and my friends.. :)

i'm not impressed by the in game videos. how in the world, in 2007 and on a next gen gaming machine can you have paper cutout trees????? i thought that went out of style after the days of the N64. the in car view was nice and so are the models, but that's about it. the pictures above are not gameplay so i don't care about them. i was a bit disappointed with fortza as well, and decided not to buy it. if they iron out the visual issues with this game, i will give it more of a chance than i gave fortza

spaceman, if they're going to use super highly detailed trees where you'll just pass by and don't even inspect them, the game is going to slow down.
