GC: Forza 6 gameplay

GC: Forza 6 gameplay

Forza Motorsport 6 at Microsoft's booth was a disappointment since it's just the E3 demo with different cars. Still here is a first video of Rio, with more to come when we have a decent connection...
Update: Added a brands hatch in the rain video.
Update 2: Added two more videos.

GC: Rio gameplay
GC: Brands Hatch gameplay
GC: Sebring gameplay

Yep, looks like a racing game.

Wow! That is one beautiful looking track.. seems to have had the saturation fixed from the last build.. colours were popping this time.. really nice :)

Looks awesome, but off screen video tends to hide flaws. But all in all the game looks to be the best forza yet which is very high praise! Can't wait to play this game.

Meh, looks like a Forza title. Looks far worse than it plays. NFS and Driveclub both look miles better. But they don't have to worry about all the physics calculations that Turn10 does. And they have more or less double the rendering budget that Turn10 does. The ultimate showcase of what this generation can do in a realistic racer will, per the usual, come when Polyphony decides it is time.

Yes, let us ignore that Forza 6 runs at twice the framerate and have twice the number of cars on track.

Ive owned and played driveclub.. awful racer.. nothing but a jaggies fest with atrocious handling, i sold it on ebay 2 days later! As for Need for Speed lol please.. i love the NFS series but come on.. framerates all over the show and its far from a looker..
As FordGTGuy says, Forza 6 is running at 1080p 60fps with weather, 3d puddle tech and 24 cars on track! There is nothing out there at the moment that tops that on console.
When PD eventually (lol) release GT7 they had better have upped their game.. the last few installments were drivel.. Gran Turismo The Real Boredom Simulator..

I think he covered that with this line "And they have more or less double the rendering budget that Turn10 does"

Just watched the brands hatch vid. Rain is more realistic looking than other racing games.. falls on the windscreen and is wiped away exactly how it should.. not like someone is constantly throwing buckets of water over it.. cant wait to see a full lap of the ring in the wet!

Just amazing! best racing game ever, Even though the game runs at 60fps, rain effect looks better than DC.

Not really when there are literally twice the amount of cars on track, that's a lot of polygons and physics.

This is not the kind of game i'd play a lot, i am more about the arcade racers and Horizon, but damn it looks awesome.

I think DC is a great racing game of it's kind. Not sim....but damn,....thrill of race is amazing, sounds are just unbeatable and graphics gorgeous. But Forza is pretty as well....for simmers it's great.

Did not buy the last Forza but definitely getting this one. I'm not big on 60fps but on certain games it does make a difference. This is clearly one of them. I don't mind the weather not being dynamic if its to keep the 60fps.

I also understand that some are not into simulation and prefer arcade racers like Driveclub. Those games should not be compared. I personally did not like DC and thought they were at first advertising like it was a sim with its realistic graphics. It is way too arcadey and kinda dull (compared to Horizon 2) which is weird for arcade racers.

Some love it, that's cool but I prefer sim so Forza and GT gets my dollars. The new NFS looks interesting for my arcade driving needs.

I've learnt to reserve judgement from off screen footage. Same thing happened at e3 looked glorious and then saw direct feed gameplay and it just didn't look as good.

Yes Korndog, he seems to have missed the full breadth of my comment. I'm saying that while the game is visually disappointing to me I understand that they're doing much more processing with half the rendering time to work with compared to the other better looking 30fps titles. I feel GT generally does a better job of providing visuals to match the idea of it being a realistic racer. While also having that 16ms window to work with.

Dynamic rain with shit awful wet track physics is nothing to brag about... Drive club does so many things wrong it's few bells and whistles are far from a saving grace.

While I agree that Driveclub looks the best in the rain, it looks much worse in day.

GT has drops frames like a SR-71 leaks fuel.

I can deal with a few dropped frames here and there when the game looks so much more natural. It's all about the lighting. And Forza, to this day, just looks OFF. Put it this way. I've seen first hand multiple people tricked thinking that footage of GT was live racing footage. Nobody would EVER be fooled by Forza. I mean don't get me wrong it's a decent looking game. But therein lies the problem it still looks like a game. It's just enough in the uncanny valley in it's attempt at portraying natural environments and objects that it still immediately makes your brain say "This isn't right." GT is a little bit out of that valley. In my perfect world though, I'd have a game with the presentation of GT and the physics model of Forza. Turn10 should ditch MS and join forces with Polyphony to make the ultimate racer.

It's not a few frames here and there, depending on the track conditions you can have bad drops.
