A walkthrough trailer would do this some good because those screenshots look like a mess visually. Hard to tell what's going on, especially on the Midship remake.
These screens are not native 1080p, and look pretty much like last-gen graphics. I realize that it's early, but I'm not impressed at all. This is not the way to reveal such a big game.

Stop this shit. Seriously, any time anyone says "LOOKS LIKE LAST GEN" they look like a complete moron. You know it's not true, we know it's not true. Stop it.
Also they are targeting 1080p and the MP at least will run at 60, so given that I think it looks fine, especially considering the game itself will have way more going on in it. The textures and shaders are nice looking even if there isn't much going on.
I think a Midship remake is a bad map to judge visuals on anyway, it's a weird looking map that doesn't look great in empty ass screenshots.

I think it looks like last-gen and you don't, so place your own individual thoughts [with regard to the product, rather than the opinions of another] and be done with it. People are allowed to have different ideas, though some of us seem to have trouble accepting that.

I played all of the Halo games last gen and I don't remember any of them appearing this graphically advanced. Even Halo 4, with graphics that were often referred to as appearing "almost next-gen" didn't have this fidelity. Am I remembering wrong? Which last-gen Halo map would you point to for comparison?

I can't honestly say that those Beta pictures look any better or worse than these. Which is why, to me, these new screens look like they are from last-gen.

This is one of the 7 maps that will be in the Halo 5 beta. Understand that the game doesn't actually come out until late NEXT YEAR. This is a true beta in the sense that they are working on it while we test it...not like Destiny where the game comes out a month after the beta is done. Right now the game is in early ALPHA stage and already the game's lighting and shadows look crazy good. It will only get better from here.

Actually, I just watched the Multiplayer Beta trailer and it actually does look that bad.

Graphically, one cannot help but be disappointed by the visuals. The media has done a scandalous job of padding how underpowered the box was and the results are no longer deniable. This is last-gen tech all over again in high res. Halo is not the only victim though, FH2 and FM5 suffer the same fate.
I think the way Microsoft chose to reveal this game speaks volumes as well. They are not releasing hype trailers and instead focus on what sells, Halo MP.
Perhaps it's a good thing, if you have limited power resources and can't compete on the visuals then you can start focusing on gameplay and fun.
That said, I don't doubt it will be visually beautiful, and somwhere somehow it's all that matters.
