Looks like it's following Uncharted a bit much for me. I hope there's still heavy platforming/problem solving elements.. and it's not all a scripted action movie.

One of my most anticipated games of next year.

What I've heard, it should also have a semi open world with exploration, even tho the few gameplay clips suggest otherwise.

THIS

Uncharted is okay, if you want squishy controls tied to an elaborate state machine. I want spelunking, navigation and puzzles. This isn't "Tomb Raider", it's Hunger Games or some other survival trend bullshit.

dont agree with this at all. I love uncharted but i consider it more a 3rd person shooter than a platformer these days.. and i want a puzzle driven platformer from tomb raider..which i think uncharteds been increasingly stepping away from.

Also i want some actual skill involved in my platforming..not a feeling of simply pressing a button.

This looks to have adopted the story driven nature of uncharted but gone about it in a more adult themed fashion - something i'm all for.

Everything we've seen seems linear, story driven and, well...uncharted with lara croft....i'm open to being surprised by something other then that come release, but i doubt it'll happen. Which i'm fine with. Tomb raider needed a change, it was becoming too tired. This should be a nice jolt of electricity to the old girl.

hope this isn't just Uncharted with Lara Croft... i expect a little more (depth) of Tomb Raider than becoming just another generous 3rd-person-shooter

A generous third person shooter sounds great...but just how generous would it be? Would it give you money if you needed it, even without asking?

Pretty much agree, but I'm still holding out hope. They announced this as a huge semi open world, mature, survival exploration game with puzzles and platforming. So far, everything they have shown is linear corridor shooter sections, with loads of QTE for the platforming and cinematic elements.

A game like TR NEEDS to at least have the illusion of freedom and exploration, even if it isn't truly an "open world" game. I love the old feeling of exploring massive locations, and not knowing what is around the bend. Also, like you said, platforming that is more than jiggling my stick until the character climbs to the next level. Make me look for ledges.....make me plan my route and take a risk......make me.......actually suffer for failure once in a while. Bringing back some great puzzles would do a lot more for me than making a really "movie" like experience as well. The games industry really needs to get over this infatuation with making games more "movie" like, and embrace what makes the medium unique: dynamic interaction and an un-matchable sense of immersion.

Overall, I still have a glimmer of hope, but it fades with every QTE and linear path stacked with enemies they show...

oops, meant "generic" of course ^^
(sorry, english is not my natural language)

but as i said, i don't like every/lots of franchise/s to become a shooter, i like actionadventures with emphasis on adventure
