everything still hasn't evolved to next gen graphics yet.
rocks still look totally fake .
and body armour still looks like a plastic cartoon . it should look like blue and red metal armour not cartoon armour .

Halo has always had more of an art style, but it certainly doesn't look that bad. Which XBOX games have you been playing?

As I said it just seriously needs an upgrade to PC. And developers need MS to give them some real hardware to play with. 7 years is a majorly long time in PC hardware development. The whole 10 year console idea was silly from the start.

With that said, this game still looks very impressive I think.

What's wrong with the rocks. The panorama screens look awesome and these are indeed ingame graphics.

Agreed with the daft pc comment and yes Halo4 is looking very pretty indeed. Mind you it's never been purely for it's graphics that people enjoy Halo. Atmosphere generated by clever design of space and colour make the biggest difference- Halo1 is still fantastic in this respect

Are you kidding me? I've been playing a lot of PC games lately (@ max settings) but these halo 4 shots still look pretty damn good. How you have come to the conclusion that this still looks like Halo 1-level visuals is beyond my understanding

How what, exactly, is done? This is just a really simple looking map... looks kinda neat in some places but nothing much is going on in any of these screenshots. Hell, I'm excited for Halo 4, but what are you even talking about?

One thing I don't like is how these shots have the image quality shot up to Ultra quality. Is the actual game going to be in native 1080p?

The graphics are quite a step up from Halo 3/Reach considering we are dealing with the same hardware. I'm suprised at how few jaggies there are. The ground looks worse than everything else because ground textures are the hardest to render. The textures are taken from aerial view hence it looks poor when playing in 3D. And the 360 doesn't do good Anisotropic filtering like a PC or even, a PS3. georaldc it won't be native 1080p thats for sure!
