I have faith, personally i think bungie burnt themselves out after the second one, hell if you watch the making of the game you will see there far from the same team that made the first, managment issues aside i just dont think there the legendary team people make them out to be.
I dont agree with that. I think Bungie pulled out all the stops for Reach - i dont expect we'll see better from them now they've left this universe behind.
Halo's always been fun to play but i'm not impressed that this is going to be a full priced retail game, nor that MS is promoting it as one of their big exclusives this year.
simply not worth what they're asking. the HD remakes that we're used to seeing now are either massively discounted compared to full price retail (BG&E) or you get 2-3 games in 1. 30 quid for an old game, albiet improved visually, simply isnt worth the cash imo.

Still play Halo 1 more than the sequels which are all excellent games. If you return to it after a long period having got used to other Halo games then it feels clunky at first perhaps regards to certain refinements here and there, but the game is easily the best one for a number of reasons. Personally it's the best game iv'e ever played

When it comes to picking this up i'll likely be paying 30 quid. Currently i can only play Halo1 on my 360 via the crappy emulation which is far from perfect. This package has the original and an entirely remodeled version. It's heaven for loads of adoring fans. Not a big multi player fan but there are also the maps. A new Firefight map is also fantastic news for me. All for 30 is not especially expensive for people that want this stuff. I'm also rather glad this isn't a download , though that's just my preference

Would have bought it on an XBLA release. Really wanted to play it online, but when I have Gears 3, the BF3 beta and later the full game waiting to be played I can't see myself paying that money for an old game.
How can a game that was about 3gbs on a DVD, be HD remade and be lower then the 2gb arcade game limit on Xbox Live??? This was never going to be an XBLA release. A game that will probably have 1000 gs and that would have to be released as a Game on Demand game was never going to be cheaper then 2500 Microsoft Points. I don't own a 360, never will and even I understand Microsoft's business model then anybody here.

So just like built in HDMI ports, standard built in wireless, 3D and now HD Remakes they are doing it NOW because people only want it NOW, not e.g. 4 years ago. In other words NOBODY would have bought a HD remake of Halo, 4 years ago according to Microsoft's philosophy.
In other news Sony welcomes Double Eleven as a new development studio. Not because it "brings value to the customer", just because that's how you make games.

HDMI ports were more expensive compared to what the composite at the time, and HDMI was not common practice at the time (and the fact they wanted to battle PS3s advertising of 1080p)
Wireless they did do, it was a add on for a extortionate price.. NOW its built is as further insentive to buy a new machine..
3D has only just taken off really.. everyone has only just started doing it NOW because well.. it was not around when they launched really was it..
your point is valid but yet flawed, i would of bought halo:CE remake using halo 2s engine about 4 months after halo 2... i would of bought it at launch this gen i WILL buy it this year, and i would probally buy it again if it launched using new engine with next xbox , why would i do such madness? because i facking lave it darling.
same reason i got final fantasy 7 on ps1 - pc PSN/PSP and the same reason i would buy it again for PS3/360/next gen...
It was great game for its time. I guess nice to have it with improved graphics. But it is overpriced for 10yrs old game. Halo1 and 2 bundeled would be better thing to do.
