Halo & the Master Chief at 1080p/60 fps

If you are eagerly waiting for tonight's livestream (10:15 p.m. CET), you should be more than satisfied to see that we have some direct feed videos of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to share with you right now. 1080p, 60 frames per second and heroic mode (except for the Halo 2 videos, Gravemind being pretty nightmarish on this difficulty setting) are in the menu today, so we hope you'll enjoy! As for tonight, you should know that those who'll be quick enough to access our own GSY livestream instead of Twitch will be able to watch our footage at 60 fps.

Sweet Jesus..... Halo 4 alone puts most next gen games to shame.

My only wish in the world is for this collection to come to PC.

Btw, are all of Halo 2's cut scenes being done in CG? That looks absolutely amazing.

WOW! Thanks guys!

Yes, they are CG.

Wow. They have put SO much work into this. The additional detail in Halo 2 is great to see (can't wait to see what the scarab mission looks like now!). Next year I will have an Xbox One. And this.

:D

Thanks for the vids Driftwood!

Ha. The way IGN is milking this stuff is shameful. Good on you guys to just post all the videos in one go.

Blur Studios is the one responsible for making all the new cutscenes for the game. Among their many, many works it includes the CGI cinematics for:

Batman: Arkham Asylum, City and Origins; BioShock 2 and Infinite; Dark Souls 2; Dishonored; DC Universe Online; Dragon Age: Origins; Fable 2 and 3; League of Legends; Halo 2, 4 and Wars; Mass Effect 2; Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and The Old Republic; The Elder Scrolls Online; Tomb Raider: Underworld and etc.

Here's the link to their works: http://vz3.blur.com/work

Can't wait for the day when real-time graphics reach this quality, it will be epic!

Looks really good but not good enough to play all again. You can definitely tell these are older gen games when scrutinised, the lighting and stiff foliage stick out.

the collection is an unbelievable bargain at it's price. And those graphics for a halo 4 at 1080p 60fps, amazing! It looks better than most games this gen. I'd also like to see halo reach get a 1080p 60 fps port too, that game was also good.

Looks really great. I love how you can instantly switch between original and remastered.

Incredible work on this collection! And as predicted, Halo 4 at 1080/60 looks almost X1 quality.

Wow, Halo 4 genuinely does look better than most current gen games! Such an amazing package, unbelievable value for money.

Nice for fans.
EPIC for fans! And I would argue that theirs never been a better time for new comers to hop into this franchise. I personally think anyone with a Xbox One should buy it.

Can't take it...
Not cinematic enough! :D

Halo 4 looks really amazing for a last gen game with the bump in resolution. This is the Orange box of this gen. Amazing value no doubt.

That i call "Remastered"!

GriftGFX And you need the script extender for stuff like SkyUI. (49 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX script extender functionality (at least temporarily) (49 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Even games with robust toolkits are often enhanced by third party tools. Skyrim is a good example. There's still a lot of folks playing the original version on the PC because the re-release broke (49 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Ironically the last thing I had to hack to get to run correctly was a Microsoft Game Studios title. That bodes well for the future :P (51 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth i have run some injectors/hacks on a few games to fix certain limitations of resolution or such, but not since Dark Souls 1. (56 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth i rarely use mods. last time was xcom2, and that supports mods out of the box. I'm not that into replacing models in WWE, GTAV or SFV. But ofc, for people who live for that stuff it's not a good thing (58 minutes ago)
