In the past I've never subscribed to Hitman's type of stealth gameplay. Just never clicked with me. This looks pretty cool, but I'm getting Max Payne vibes from it.
Hitman has his share of problems too (dumbed down gameplay for dem noobs, why can't that guard just turn around and shoot 47 in the face ?). Still better than the CoDs and Assassin Creeds if you ask me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XLrtLsGt_g
Good stuff, i wonder can i use a sword for all missions when i get one?probably not,just to keep things close and personal while they have their guns for a challenge.
Thought the lack of Kyd in Assassin Creed 3 would ruin it. Turns out it did. Don't want this now.
At least they got David Bateson back to do Agent 47 after HE had to contact them about it. Jesper Kyd didn't go to IO though when he wasn't approached.

Only played about an hour and i'm loving it. The tutorial was a bit worrying, since it forces some situations on you that you can't avoid. It does have a small section that is 'ranked' though, which lets you approach how you want. They're way more unforgiving in this then they where in blood money, i felt like you could do a dance in front of people on blood money and still not be considered suspicious, in this they just have to be facing your general direction and the suspision meter builds. Not playing on purist, seemed unreasonable for a first go through, but i'm one below on expert.
Looks and runs really nice too. Not going to win any awards or anything, but looks a lot better then their past games. I wouldn't worry about the music either, it's great so far. Certainly not a reason to avoid it.

Expert gives you limited access to some of those things, you have instincts, but you don't get item of interest highlights or enemy path hints. Basically you're not psychic. Otherwise they both have the highest number of enemies with the strongest level of awareness and accuracy.
Purist even tells you it's for when you know every level like the back of your hand, but first time through your not going to have that, and with no checkpoints ehat so ever, it seems like it'd be a trial and error game of frustration. So i'm doing that one once i'm done with expert.
I agree that this time it is quite a bit more difficult. Played a couple of levels on purist but that always ended up in a big messy shoot out, so I turned it down to expert, which still is quite the challenge. Textures could be better but the game does a good job creating the special atmosphere hitman games are famous for. Music is terrific, especially because it adapts to the situation. I couldn't have asked for more and the replay value is pretty high, with all the challenges available and contracts mode especially. 9.5/10
no, not really. purist is the devs making a pretty lame attempt at appeasing hitman fans. you can't build a game around the instinct mode, strip it out for "purist" and then still expect it to work as a game. i've completed all past hitman titles with SA ratings on the hardest difficulties, i like the challenge, but this is the first time i've felt like the game was being unfair with it's "AI". being spotted from across the room WHILST disguised just reeks of broken AI to me. i understand if people freak out when i'm dressed as a chef in an area where there shouldnt be any chefs, but fellow chefs freaking out when i'm dressed as a chef in a chef friendly chinatown street market? that makes no sense to me. do each of the specific "character types" know each other so well that they can tell you're not one of them just from a passing glance? seems rediculous, but maybe it's just me.
