It's quite fun actually, should make a great little XBLA game.

(I wonder if anyone will fail to notice it's for Arcade?)

Reminds me of the £5 Dreamcast Charity game Toy Racer!

is that game also called Revolt? or was it a different game?

I remember Revolt, that game was freakin awesome. I'd play that thing for hours and hours. I hope this is similar, although it's obviously not RC cars.

They need to make a new mini version of Crazy Taxi and release that over XBLA...

The disappointing thing is they had to leave out online multiplayer. It was in the PC version but won't be on the 360.

One thing we had to give up on the XBLA version is the multiplayer option. It’s doable, but too time consuming to implement on a first 360 release. Next time, we promise (already working on it).

You have to realize that no one is helping us fund the game and before the first player buys it on XBLA, we’re not getting any dough. So time is a factor that we had to take into account.

Sounds like it will be patched in if enough people buy it. But will people buy it without multiplayer? Hmmmmm...

Im pretty sure they will. I played the pc demo and really enjoyed it, as well as the races theres mini games like football/soccer etc to play. It still has split screen mp on the XBLA version which is better than nothing!

Wow, that's really bad news that they're not releasing ANY multiplayer (or at least online). The PC game was fun but would have been SO much better against real people. I have a feeling that this lack of multiplayer will really hurt their sales.

The screenshot looks pretty good, improved from the PC demo anyway. I wonder what they will charge for the game considering the loss of multiplayer. I hope it's less than 800 considering that Cloning Clyde was 800 and offered multiplayer.

"The PC version was just released "
I think the PC version has been out for quite a while (I know I tried it at least 3 months ago) unless they updated the demo recently.

I wont buy this if there is no online multiplayer... damn shame really, it looks like fun... but single player alone wont do it for me anymore.

I'd love to share your optimism, but that doesn't sound realistic at all to me.

Adding such an important feature post-release would make the people who bought it happy, but it would be too late to change anyone else's first impression. They won't get the new-release buzz again, and it won't change the review scores. The time and money it would take to implement it is probably better spent towards their next game.

Plus, if they were hoping to add it in the future, they would at least want to hint at it (a la Kameo) so that people who want online play would know to keep an eye open. But I see no hints at all.

Hey, I'm new here. Can anyone explain to me what this game is about?
Commented on 2006-07-24 22:35:05
That is so damn lame, I had hopes for this game, but since there is no MP, screw it.
*two thumbs way down*

This kind of game should be built around multiplayer, I mean look at it!!

The PC one was out to moths ago.

400 would have been fair with no multi, 800 is steep, but hell, ms is going nuts with all teh pricing lately... and i say ms because they take in 30-40%, and encourage devs to charge more.
Commented on 2006-07-24 23:15:10
The game was finished over a month ago, and all it needed was Microsofts approval. So it either failed the test, or they've been given a little bit of cash to get Multiplayer in before release. I'm hoping the latter, as it would be great fun online, it's the only arcade game I want to buy!

MS tells developers to embrace the live component.. they might not even want them to release a half-baked game that disregards one of MS' key strategies for the 360: multiplayer.

I hope it has great gameplay such as Ignition on PC way back in 1997.

About the game

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I mean they can keep upgrading it but why bother when they have more capable engines already. (11 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I just think it shows its age in a lot of ways in FC5 and they have better tech so they should use it. (11 Hours ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth if they still pay royalties to crytech when using it they probably should (11 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Although I think it's kinda time to retire Dunia. (11 Hours ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @HR2: a lot of studios used modified UE3, games like Arkham Knight, XCom2, both being very problematic on pc. Interesting to see what those studios will do for their next games. (11 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @HR2: Ubisoft uses their own engines. They have like.. three solid in house game engines. (11 Hours ago)
  • HR2
HR2 @Melmoth: agreed. speaking of Ubisoft, I wonder which engine they're using for the next Splinter Cell. a heavily modified UE3 like Batman AK or UE4? (11 Hours ago)
