Images and Artworks of Virtua Tennis 3

Sega released a whole bunch of images and artworks of Virtua Tennis 3, some not really new, to be released in March on PS3 and 360.

looks good. I'm waiting for the reviews to start pouring in, but I bet most will like what VT3 has to offer!

Holy cowbell batman!
That looks incredible.... I'm not the biggest fan of tennis games so I still propably won't get it though.

The first two dreamcast releases were great multiplayer games, I can only imagine that VT3 + Xbox Live will be a fantastic experience. Looking forward to it, waiting to see how it compares to the PS3 version, but given a good Xbox Live mode, it will be an easy decision.

Very impressive, especially with the faces. Hair looks cool hehe. Are the pictures from PS3 or 360 ? Which console looks better ?

Looks like the PS3 and 360 versions look about the same from what I heard. 360 has online though.

If it's anything like the previous releases on Dreamcast, it should be very fun. Virtua Tennis and VT2 were killer multiplayer games. Like most of Sega's great software, very arcade-like in its nature.

A preview over at Eurogamer mentioned that the PS3 has 20 Top players whilst Xbox 360 and PC version have only 12. The PS3 has no online features though so those 8 players are to sort of compensate for that.
here's the very positive preview http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=71... it seems the game is shaping up really nicely.

Yeah Blim? They've caught up then yeah? I remember someone saying the PS3 version looked sharper, but I really never can tell from the screenshots. (while other people seem to be brilliant judges, especially in favour of their favoured machine :D)

I forget, AM2 is handling the PS3 version and Sumo are doing the Xbox 360 one yeah?

They did a FANTASTIC job on Outrun 2 (save for horrid load times that I suppose couldn't be helped with a game as seamless as that) so I have faith that they'll make the 360 snazzy enough in the end.

Oh and Live multiplayer.. Better prepare to get smacked around by my brother online again then. Top Spin was such a degrading experience :( - although I did come out on top in Table Tennis!

Table Tennis is actually a bit better than Top Spin 2, by means of being a better sport :) Love me some ping pong..can't play tennis to save my life, but I own at ping pong.

And yea, I think Sumo is handling this port. Hopefully to give AM2 time to work on the Virtua Fighter 5 port.

Well I never bothered with Top Spin 2 upon finding out how incredibly similar it was to Top Spin 1, which I wasn't overly keen on. (you can get crucified for less, I know)

I just feel that the whole stats thing sort of defeats the purpose of a competetive match, online or off, where whether you've played more or less in the career mode you essentially have a bigger or smaller shot at winning - not because you're better, but because your character is. It's alien for me with a fighting game background.

So yeah, Table Tennis is fantastic to me. Set stats and characters where at least plenty of them are reasonably balanced and the game relies 100% on your own skill. That said, I know the create-a-character approach makes a solo experience more rewarding and engaging, especially in the face of a game that employs real life sports stars you have little to no chance of identifying with unless you're into sports.

They got that wrong and have edited the article. No difference between the versions as far as pro players goes.

Unsurprisingly then, the usual roster of real-life likenesses will be making an appearance in the game, with 20 real-world players appearing in the PS3, PC and 360 versions [updated - Ed].

Those player models look outstanding, i really hope that the conversion that sumo are doing keeps the players like that.

This really makes me realize how far graphics have come considering this is just a tennis game.
