Atari released these 3 new images and a teaser of Test Drive Unlimited. I'm really starting to like this game :) Update: 720p-versions of the six new images added.
This is game to buy. PGR3 is on rails. I am tired of the same driving concept for the last 15 years (no freedom, no real creative driving) This is a blockbuster. Seriously.
PGR3 will be great.. but this will come in march 2006 or later.. so chances are people will be hungry for a new racing game.. it's open, total freedom.. shops, garages, houses to buy.. every car will have a nice in car view.. windows go up and down by your control.. online will be massive.. in fact, this game will be based on online as the main part of the game!
All kinds of cars.. it will be something to behold once it's out.. i am sure of it!
Oh and cockknocker.. that's a pagani zonda man! they look like that, and i think it's the best looking car i have seen so far! i love that car...
This game looks like it will be alot of fun. Its not up their with PGR3, but then again its one MASSIVE level, so the ploycount wont be as high, vs PGR3 where its just tracks. I love the concept of having one huge level, where u can just run into other players online driving, it gives sense of realism to the gameplay
"Visually more detail is going in with every build - this looked noticeably better last week than it did at the Tokyo Game Show just six weeks ago, for example. The cars already look magnificent, easily on a par with some of Project Gotham Racing 3's offerings (complete with a comparable polycount figure of 60-100,000, which we braved hoots of derision from our hack-peers to collect for you, readers), while the environment is thick with detail. They're a bit heavy on the softening, but otherwise the screenshots truly are representative - thundering through the roadside forestry (you know what I'm like) was a bit like racing through a darker, more claustrophobic Far Cry. Mainly because, as I said, the thrill is speed."
Yes, this is the Live innovator that online gaming just needed. Also, this is exactly the concept I had in mind for the genre about five years ago. Love it.
I remember the old Test Drive games for the PC and it seems like things have come around full circle. Test Drive was one of the pioneers of the drive along a road with other traffic while avoiding police cars. Need For Speed took this to the next level (actual 3D) first on the 3DO. I think it's fitting that now that the Need For Speed series is somewhat stagnant at EA that a new game using the Test Drive name emerges and advances the evolution of this kind of game again.
Man i'm getting in kind of a difficult situation. At first i only wanted PGR3, then i wanted Kameo as well, then PDZ, then Condemmed and now i want this game as well! But i think it's going to be very tough on my wallet if i buy all those 5 games at the same time. Or is Test Drive: Unlimited not a launchtitle?

That car is a Pagaini Zonda and yes that is the real exhaust.

Visit here to find more information on it. I bet it would knock your socks off when driving it.
