Images of Blood Bowl

We covered this baby back in E3 2004, where it was announced. The game was cancelled, but Blood Bowl was recently taken alive again by French studio Cyanide. Focus Home Interactive is publishing it on Xbox 360, PC, PSP and the DS, and some images and information can be found inside.

Sweet! Reminds me of Mutant League for the Genesis. We need more interesting sports games like this, bout time it happened.

Wow, now that's one very 80's game idea and designs. And I like it ^^ Gives me some feeling of nostalgie thought...

This is great! I play Blood Bowl(my Human team: the Stirland Stormtroopers!) from time to time and now they are making a video game version? Awesome!!!

I like it, finally something that's not a shooter/ea regurgitation.

I was thinking the same. Talk about good ole memories. I really, really, really missed the good old days of fantasy sports games. Always thought that finally getting official licenses from the various pro sports organizations took away from videogaming football and really did not add enough back to make up for the loss. Now that EA has the NFL license locked up until 2012, I hope to see more football games like this one pop up. It would really be nice to see videogaming football get back to it's arcadey roots. Remember the blessedness that was Tecmobowl or the NBA Jams series? Classic gameplay that sometimes seems like it's gone forever. With luck, Blood Bowl will be a AAA class act all the way, and a return to form for the industry that will really spark a lot of other sports developers out there, to follow in their footsteps.

The grass? It looks like one patch of grass repeated a thousand times
A clone stamp went rampant on the field and didn't take the time to hide the fact

I didnt know anything about american football when I started playing Blood Bowl and that fact didnt hurt a bit! It's about stompin' and bashin'! ...and getting the ball and scoring a touchdown I suppose!

GriftGFX Despite assuming the books are MUCH better.. CDPR's shitty writing didn't make me want to read the books. (34 minutes ago)

GriftGFX Dammit.. I was like, wait, no.. I don't want to start a Witcher discussion. It's just standard seller's remorse stuff. (35 minutes ago)
  • MikeManiac61
MikeManiac61 @Megido: That's what I did. Never heard of the books until the game came out. Zapkowsi should be happy, I've bought all of the books so far. (48 minutes ago)

asdfg @Megido: oh I see. Cheers. (1 Hour ago)
  • Megido
Megido If anything, i think he should be happy. his books were pretty much completely unknown outside of Poland before the games so far as i know, so why complain? More people will read the books. Win. (2 Hours ago)
  • Megido
Megido offered a percentage of all sales. So he screwed himself because he didn't think the games would sell. As much as i like his books, i mean...tough luck bro. (2 Hours ago)

Megido @asdfg: Grift posted a link about Zapkowski who was butthurt about the Witcher games as they internationally overshadow his books, and that he took a straight payment upfront even though he was... (2 Hours ago)
