The character animations are not smooth when turning players, feels very robotic, still feels too much like playing under water especialy when shooting, tackling is very poorly done and ref stops the game way too often. Some nice little new touches comparing to the last version (07) but still far from perfect gameplay wise. Also disapointed over the same interface as 07, no way this is a 60$ game...

Pretty looking? yes, better gameplay than PES? Not even close.... (that doesn't mean PES is perfect as I think graphics are bit poor there... so you can't have the best of both words :))

You can't judge the game from a early build of a demo, many people have said the full version is more responsive than the demo.
Characater animations are smooth, exquisite to be exact, doesn't feel robotic to me, alil slow true but not robotic, I have never understood that underwater comment, I have no problem with shooting and the tackling is very well done in my book especially the animations of players falling down. Refs stop the game too often? I have heard the opposite

You want to talk about spending 60 bucks for a PES game that shouldn't be on a next gen system because it is not next gen, this is basically a port with a few minor tweaks from the PS2 so basically you are spending the same for a PS2 game and don't get me started on PES rediculously fast paced pinball football, I will admit PES plays a great game but it is not a true sim of the sport IMO which is what I am looking for.

Some people love PES and others love FIFA, no gameplay is better than the other it's just your preference

for the first time i think in years fifa feels like football & most impotently next-gen,
i love pes & i am sure it will be the best football game on ps2, but the truth is, the gameplay its starting to get a bit old for a next-gen football game, still the player faces look amazing, on the demo of pes08, (unlike players likenes on fifa08 as most of the players look nothing like them) but the fact that the demo is playing in such a high speed, it make pes08 look & feel les football sim.
at the and i might get both games, but i totaly think fifa08 is the better football game this year in my opinion

I'm not a hardcore Football-game fan, but I thought the FIFA 08 demo was more fun to play then the PES 8 one.. It obviously also looks better, PES 8 looks a bit poor imho in comparison for a 2nd gen Xbox 360 sportsgame..

KORNdog Luring those dynamic hordes to ripper camps sounds fun because they worship them. They won't fight them they'll simply be eaten willingly. Lol (10 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog
KORNdog They've put in challenge hordes that are super tough to beat that are pre-determined in size and strength. You'd be stupid to fight those without a ton of resources. (10 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @droezelke: that's the challenge hordes. The end game ones. There is an overworked horde that moves and sleeps, and eats based on how you've affects the rest of the world. (10 Hours ago)

droezelke @GriftGFX: Bioshock 1 is an absolute classic. Bioshock 2 wasn't Ken Levine. Infinite was just good. (11 Hours ago)
  • MikeManiac61
MikeManiac61 @GriftGFX: Oh yeah, it definitely had something going on for it. The ending to me was just...ugh. The 1st managed to keep me attention throughout, I just wanted to be done with Infinite halfway. (14 Hours ago)
