Images of Ghost Squad

Images of Ghost Squad

It is too stupid for words as SEGA well knows it with this latest batch of images from their shooting game Ghost Squad, a Nintendo Wii exclusivity. A weapon shaped as a dolphin, deadly bikini beauties, samurais, a character with a heart-shaped eye patch, it's like bad fiction. However, it's real and will use the Wii Zapper peripheral. The game can be completed alone or with the help of up to four friends. You can unlock a total of 25 weapons. The game will be available this November.

Oh my god.

Didn't even have to open the pictures to say that.

non-sensical plot/characters... let me guess Japanese developer? I'd put money on it. "bad fiction" synonymous with...

This has to be some stupid joke-mode of the game or something. Right? :P

Reminds me of Oneechanbara. I think I'll be picking this up once I get a Wii!

really really stupid for them to release images like this. Not just because they're stupid, but some people might find the images of the game and think that this IS the game (which means less sales). You don't see Bungie releasing images of Grunts in bikinis for Halo 3.

Because there is no cheat for bikinis in H3

It seems like most Wii games have ultra simple game mechanics. I assume this is an on-rail shooting gallery game. For $50, a game needs to be more than a novelty, IMO.

...Sweet lord - I just vomited on my monitor...

Funny thing is that I've played in it in arcade this weekend and spent approx $10 (in rubles) - couldn't stop playing. This one is pretty ugly but suprisingly addictive.

Hey, I played this game a week ago, in the ARCADES! Man, Sega sure loves to port their arcade games...

Yeah, Ghost Squad rocks in the arcades, and it'll make a great addition to my Wii library.

I think it's very encouraging to know that Sega are showing the Wii some arcade port love, as Virtua Striker 3 was the only one that went on the cube and... wasn't... terribly hot.

They'd have to mess this up PRETTY bad to ruin an inherently great shooter though - to a point I don't think is even possible.

About the game

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I'm not saying it's impossible that another developer would want to do it and would do it justice. That's just rarely the case when a franchise changes hands. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And some of them work at Arkane, so I guess that makes sense. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And that's a pretty baseless statement. Just paging through Mobygames, most of the Half Life 2 staff still works at Valve. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX They've lost SOME of their key staff. Staff that they can replace as easily as farming out the game to some third party. (1 Hour ago)

alimokrane Good interview with Phil Harrison: [url] (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog so why does it matter if they make the next one or not? it's like people being excited about rare making a new perfect dark when the people who made perfect dark 1 on the N64 are long gone. (2 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog and the mention of brands being popular is ironic seeing as that's all dev studio's are. valve today is nothing like valve when half life was being made. they've lost all of their key staff. (2 Hours ago)
