Yes it does look good, im not really into RTS's(tho i rented one of the C&C games like last month and thought it was decent) but in very interesting in to see how this turns out. Certainly looks good imo in these pics.

Im sure the screens are a little bit "touched", but nevertheless it looks each time better and better. I´ve never been a fan of console RTS... but I might give this one a chance as I´m a big fan of Halo Universe ;)

lmfao they're actually using the elephant as a troop transporter while its the slowest and most impractical vehicle they could've made up for the job....

wat?
the deffnition of troop transporter in most franchises is a Big Slow-ass vehicle compared to the lighter ones.

Advance Wars comes to mind. There surely are other more "conventional" RTS that have them like that, too.

....Advanced wars? You want to use that to prove your point? Sure transporters are supposed to be a bit slower, but not as slow as the elephant, I mean have you played Halo 3? Also, the fact that the turrets are just out there in the open making the soldiers vulnerable is retarded. They should have designed a transporter from the ground up, the elephant was made specifically for a shooter, some design choices were made for the sake of balance in the mutiplayer but in a RTS they just seems stupid and impractical, It doesn't feel right...

An Example.
I said "There are other convention RTS that are the same!"

Yhea made for a multiplayer map based shooter where there isn't really need to... transport?
It a free take if they use it on a real SP game. Why do you assume that it's gonna be as slow as an FPS game where it's used as a base and not a transport?
Did you see the porpotion between the spartans and the scrab in the Gamepro Scans? It's called tweaking, for the genera sake. It doesn't have to be faithful to the last tinny bit. They have to make it work in the type of game. So, if you think it's a slow for a transporter in that kind of game, I'm sure they will make the necessary tweaking to be perfect gameplay-wise.

I don't see the problem in using The Elephant, really. For air transport, there is always the Pelicans.

There you just helped prove my point. In Halo 3 it's used more for a base purpose, the whole design philosophy behind the elephant is that it functions as a flag holder and a respawn point. The design was built around those choices, that explains the placement of the turrets and the open roof(the players are still exposed to fire). What I'm trying to say is: Why not make a transporter from the ground up so that it fits realistically in the universe? They put the elephant in just for sake of fan service, a vehicle people would remember from Halo 3's multiplayer.

I don't think they are. These look a good bit better than what we saw over a year ago, but not such a giant leap it's not palpable. I think you'll find these are the ingame graphics - and in my opinion THE best graphically looking RTS I've seen to date. Now we just have to see if it delivers on the gameplay front.

Of course they are in-game graphics, no doubt about that. But please let me be a little bit sceptical about the amount of AA in there.

Bullshots but disregarding that the artwork is great. I mean really great, I get this mushy feeling like I got when I got some micro machine toys when I was a kid.

I'm really looking forward to this, it seems very accurate to the series. Watching all the little warthogs fish tail about is just awesome :) I like all the little details they've included. I liked C&C3 for the 360, and the controls here seem to be refined even more, making it easier to select individual units, etc.

And for once, it supports co-op and system link. Yay.

OMFG they're using THE ELEPHANT to transport troops! THIS GAME IS DOOOMEEEDDDD!

<sarcasm> The Elephant moved so slow in Halo3, so that means that it will handle and drive exactly the same in a totally different style (RTS) game also! OMFG the choice of turret placement clearly indicates that it is meant as a base and not to transport troops, so this is utter lip-service to people who played Halo3 because they recognize it! </sarcasm>

Come on, seriously. I swear I've never seen so many whiners in my life. I've been visiting this site for a long long time and have only recently decided to post, but gamers have become the most narcissistic whiney little babies I've ever seen.

At the very least, how about you wait and see how they execute the use of the Elephant in the game, or even better yet, wait to see if that's the ONLY choice of troop-transport that there is before you start whining about it. How can you possibly look at a few screenshots and make the deductions that you're making, honestly?

Hey- these are the shots from the Gamepro! A week ago or more some dolt was saying that the game looked like crap and I countered by saying the new shots in Gamepro looked awesome... but I didn't have anything to back that up!

I think it looks great and I'm really itching to see how awesome it is. I don't really care that it's 'Halo' (but I am a huge fan of Halo), it's the fact that it's Ensemble. They make the best RTS's on PC and I have 100% faith in their ability to make a great console RTS. 100% confidence.

Jesus christ we need to get that sand out of your vagina! It's gone so deep up there you're spewing that angry bullshit out your mouth. Who the fuck said anything about the game as a whole? I never said the game was doomed or that this one unit would affect the game in ANY technical way. I'm just pointing out my opinion on THE PRESENTATION OF ONE SINGLE GODDAMN UNIT. I think it's out of place, I think it could've have been better.

This is a place to debate about games, I'm not complaining, I'm not aggressive. I let that other guy say his thing and respected his opinion. What's wrong with debating about what's already on the table? Sure the game isn't out yet, but I can see what the fucking unit looks like and I can dam well tell what I think about it. Maybe you should do the same some time instead of lurking around here and occasionally posting "zomg dis game looks gooood". This is a place for debate, you have NOTHING to offer us or this site as a whole if you don't want express your views in a good, clean ARGUMENT.

Im actually looking forward to this game, I care about it. But If see something I dont like you bet your uptight ass I'm gonna call it. Not everyone is so passive and indifferent as you are...

stop arguing end of story guys back and forth is BS... as for the elephant as a transport... it technically is a transport just a slow mobile moving base of destruction.... but it does "transport" now i doubt thats to be considered a real armored vehicle...

but then again i doubt their will be a dedicated transport... why? well lets see the warthog handles 3 people, and pretty much every ransport can technically handle multiple marines... so why have a dedicated troop transport

edit: as a note in pic 2 is that even the elephant??? those in the pic have covered rears unlike the elephant.
