Images of HAWX

Ubisoft has announced a partnership with GeoEye, to provide images for Ubi's upcoming air combat game Tom Clancy's HAWX. GeoEye's images are currently being used by the US national Security, and hopefully will this give some great environments in the game. The images inside show Algeria, Rio de Janeiro and Cape Canaveral.

this game looks and sounds more spectacular everytime i hear aobut it... its a definite buy for me ... as long as they keep the sense of speed their, i hate flight games that feel slow.

Seriously are people blind in here? This looks like a copy of Ace Combat 6 which is - if I might add - a year old game. From what I can see when I look at these pics is very bad textures, foggy like someone set the sharpness to ZERO.

I expect more power out of an Ubi Soft-Studio

Just take a look at the planes? My Nintendo DS can produce better than this!
But the drawing distance is nice.

I wish there would be SOME game that is set in Israel, or at least as a part of a middle-east setting. There's plenty of games where Americans fight Arabs, Chinese, Russian, even European forces, but, for some reason there's never reference to Israel.

and about the game, well. it looks very good. I just hope it will not be as arcade-ish as ace combat 6.

BTW: yes, Assassin's creed is set in Palestine, but it's not Israel.

What Foxxy said. Not to mention the fact that from the trailers and demonstrations we've seen, HAWX (ew at that name) is so arcadey, that its just.... It makes me puke :P

When this game can make Ace Combat 6 seem like a SIMULATOR, then something is seriously wrong..
Ace Combat is 100% arcade, but its done right.
This is 100% arcade, with 100% newb-and-8yearolds-friendliness.
Just like hollywood, that = pure shit.

Competition creates better games

Problem with Ace Combat is it feels slow as hell, always has. This game has a better sense of speed from the videos.

Graphics look great. It is a bit soft, but that style adds a bit of photo-realism vs aliased, sharp models.

About the game

Sdarts Even if you have the money, if the place where you're gonna put your TV and the viewing distance should always be taken into account. If you don't have a big room, don't buy a very big TV. (1 Hour ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Moonwalker: If you do any basic research into TVs, you will find out that viewing distance and display size are very important factors when deciding to buy a TV. (1 Hour ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker difference was barely noticeable. Checked some sites, they recommend at least 1.98m, so i do that, difference was instantly noticeable, lol. The question is, do you want to sit 2m away from a 65''? :P (5 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker I have to come back to that about 4K, me and my stupid ass didn't take into account the viewing distance. Stupid me was watching both 1080p and 4K Netflix at like 3.5m away from the 65 inch TV. (5 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks ooo Pyre on discount and it comes out next month! I didn't even realize it was coming so soon (14 Hours ago)
  • b0vril
b0vril @Moonwalker: I imagine the bitrate for most 4K streaming is going to be significantly less than the bitrate on most 1080p blu-rays. (18 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker These shows already are crisp as can be on the B6, not demo video crisp. Was kinda expecting that from Netflix 4K. Guess i really need to see a 4K BR disc. (21 Hours ago)
