Images of HAWX

Ubisoft has announced a partnership with GeoEye, to provide images for Ubi's upcoming air combat game Tom Clancy's HAWX. GeoEye's images are currently being used by the US national Security, and hopefully will this give some great environments in the game. The images inside show Algeria, Rio de Janeiro and Cape Canaveral.

this game looks and sounds more spectacular everytime i hear aobut it... its a definite buy for me ... as long as they keep the sense of speed their, i hate flight games that feel slow.

Seriously are people blind in here? This looks like a copy of Ace Combat 6 which is - if I might add - a year old game. From what I can see when I look at these pics is very bad textures, foggy like someone set the sharpness to ZERO.

I expect more power out of an Ubi Soft-Studio

Just take a look at the planes? My Nintendo DS can produce better than this!
But the drawing distance is nice.

I wish there would be SOME game that is set in Israel, or at least as a part of a middle-east setting. There's plenty of games where Americans fight Arabs, Chinese, Russian, even European forces, but, for some reason there's never reference to Israel.

and about the game, well. it looks very good. I just hope it will not be as arcade-ish as ace combat 6.

BTW: yes, Assassin's creed is set in Palestine, but it's not Israel.

What Foxxy said. Not to mention the fact that from the trailers and demonstrations we've seen, HAWX (ew at that name) is so arcadey, that its just.... It makes me puke :P

When this game can make Ace Combat 6 seem like a SIMULATOR, then something is seriously wrong..
Ace Combat is 100% arcade, but its done right.
This is 100% arcade, with 100% newb-and-8yearolds-friendliness.
Just like hollywood, that = pure shit.

Competition creates better games

Problem with Ace Combat is it feels slow as hell, always has. This game has a better sense of speed from the videos.

Graphics look great. It is a bit soft, but that style adds a bit of photo-realism vs aliased, sharp models.

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @Moonwalker: The design is pretty much locked down 18 months before a console hits the shelves. you can change things like voltage, frequency and the amount of system memory, but not the APU design. (10 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Melmoth: exactly. They're just "confirming" stuff we knew. They're just feigning knowledge so they're first. (12 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: and who's he? How have they changed? Got worse? Got better? (14 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth and things like "rasterisation efficiency improves as resolution increases".. which is standard stuff. (14 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth what's talked about in the eurogamer seems most like info already out there in one way or another, like hardware features that were introduced in the polaris, and the ms e3 slides. (16 minutes ago)
  • aphex187
aphex187 @GriftGFX: Enjoyed BF1 for a short period of time but it's one of my least played games in the series. Uninstalled it late november. (16 minutes ago)

alimokrane @KORNdog: Well they were right about the switch, so.. (28 minutes ago)
