Once again thanks to the XCN, we got another great interview to post - this time with Jun Takeuchi, Producer of Lost Planet at Capcom. Inside you'll find his thoughts about Halo, the demos and lobbiees, the PS2 and much more, including wallpapers.

WTF??? ANY.....absolutely ANY action game is helped by a co-op mode. I think it's stupid to even be questioning that. If you have co-op, your game automatically becomes almost twice as good as it was, it's just that easy.

In gears it worked because the actual game is played by a team which you control but in Lost Planet you are playing a single person which if Co-op was just to be thrown in SP wouldnt make much sense now would it. I think they should have a separate co-op compaign available as a downloadabel content (for a reasonable price that is!)

I wanted since day one damn it. Would be awesome if Wayne and one of those green jackets with red goggles went out and killed akrids and such.

Anyway those wallpapers are bad, there are hell of alot better at Capcoms official Lost Planet site.

The three first ones are my favorites.
Anyway...next week i will be having the Collector's Edition on top of my Gears of War Collector's Edition box. Man I cant wait for its exclusive stuff, the game, artbook and soundtrack!

I think a lot of kudos needs to be shown to the team making this for the interaction they've shown with the community during it's development. It's patently obvious a better product will be the end result.

For co-op to be in, the level design and encounters need to be designed with that in mind from the beginning. Tacking it on would have been a bad move. I'm sure they would look at it, if there were ever an LP2

I'm sure after Gears success more games will be implementing that type of co-op. Even EA have got the message with Army of Two.

The one game that better have online co-op is Halo 3.

You guys maybe right about the co-op, now, who's idea was it to not do that from step 1? Would you rather play Halo by yourself or co-op? The same for Gears. Co-op gives ANY game a lot more replay value.

IMO, simply throwing co-op in there could have worked. Instead of there being just one mech, spawn two.........there's nothing specially different about the level design of a game that supports co-op.

I think maybe he added all the thought process and brainstorming time in there aswell.

I think the max time is could ever be for developing on the 360 is 2 years and that's pushing it by a lot (that means ms would have had to give them a debug kit way early before other devs).

Dead rising with 4 player online coop (and fixed saves locations , bigger text for non HD users) = Best social game eva!
